The maintenance is complete, and the PTS is now back online and patch 11.1.0 is available.

vMA weps got buffed due to the change to the abilities they augment, but master staff did not...

Why didnt master staff get the same audit/buff as some of the vma/master weps?

Examples:
This ability and its morphs now deal damage every second, rather than every half second, and increased the damage per tick by approximately 11%. This will result in an overall damage loss.
Thunderous Volley: Increased the damage bonus of this set to be nearly double the original value, since Volley and its morphs only tick once every 1 second, instead of every half second. The values are slightly less than double, since they are now on prettier numbers.


All player sources of bleeds will now respect a target’s Physical Resistance. Many adjustments have been made to ensure bleeds deal similar damage to other standard Damage Over Time effects.
Stinging Slashes: Increased the damage bonus to 1600 per tick from 1350


Reduced the initial hit damage by approximately 17%, but increased the DoT by approximately 167% per tick.
Missing the buff here, sure they buffed the dot, but master staffis all about the initial hit..not the dot.

    I dunno, it kinda looks like all the Maelstrom weps got hit, to the point where I think Master's Bow might outperform Maelstrom bow. But yeah, I suspect Master's Staff is gonna be worse in PvP--Less initial damage, and now we need to choose either range or the extra effect.

    But of course, if we're across-the-board trying to lower dps, it really sucks that these elite arena weapons are getting crappier and crappier and crappier.

    The staff also lowers the cost, a lot, on my sorc, it take takes clench from 2295 to 1650.

    Also, pro tip, take a look at the tooltip for the lightning version of clench, I get a 10k+ AOE spammable, that costs 1650, with the master lightning staff on my sorc.

    Also, the 2k extra damage is still there, takes destroy reach on that sorc from 4995 for the direct damage part to 7595, an almost 50% damage increase to the direct damage part.

    The issue is, the master staff changes reach into a spammable, you loose dmg on that spammable no matter how you look at it with the nerf. The dot part is secondary for the fact that it becomes a spammable wich you cast several times over a 8s period, wich is the duration of the dot, so the dot part becomes irrelevant imo.

    clench is the spammable version, specifically the lightning version. try it out.
