The future of ESO looks...?

Extrapolating recent trends, considering promises kept and broken, balance improving or getting worse in both PvE and PvP, crownstore content quality and pricing, server performance, etc - what do you think the future of ESO looks like as a whole?

I'm sure we all want it to be bright but is what should be the same what you think will be?

Unsure... I think the way the game is run is changing..... but to be honest my only sources of info are playing the game itself and the forums (which are hardly balanced but still have some valid experiences).....

    Doesn't look good at all.
Personally, i'll quit ESO as soon as another game with the same pvp quality but without all the issues is released.
For the moment i'll stick to this game but without spending any single € on it.

the game is moving in a great direction and is more fun than ever!
"The red pill and its opposite, the blue pill, are a popular cultural meme, a metaphor representing the choice between:

Knowledge, freedom, uncertainty and the brutal truths of reality (red pill)
Security, happiness, beauty, and the blissful ignorance of illusion (blue pill)"

Insight to Agree to Awesome Ratio = 1:6.04:2.76 as of 1/25/2019

Compared to people that I've ignored = I am 18% more insightful, 20% less agreeable, and 88% more awesome.

Lack of Z)S comments on reports of issues is IMHO the worst thing about the game.
This only makes lots of players to believe they cannot fix they issues, or do not care.

I'll go with bright, it has it's issues which I'm salty about right now, but they've been doing more and more QoL updates which is a big gain.

However its the wrong material I assume cp160 medium or heavy.
Tinfoil is the new bis :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

You know what's funny? Every single person that says stuff like "game is dying" across all MMOs ever made, where all proven wrong in the end.

ESO has its issues, just like every single MMO out there (gasp!), but it will surely keep going for years, and naysayers will keep pestering or even insulting anyone that enjoys the game, again, like every naysayer present in every MMO community.

The genre is littered with quite a few dead MMOs.

    HAHAHA. Well done.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people play a game that they claim to absolutely hate. And seem to play it every day.

I felt like there are some nuances getting lost if those two were lumped together. Grim sounds like a catastrophic end while bleak sounds more like it won't improve enough and die slowly or stay mediocre forever.
On the other end, people who are positive about the game's future probably don't feel like nuance is being lost if they call it "bright".
For good measure I added the obligatory "other" in case someone is torn as different aspects evolve in different directions and neither overshadows/makes up for the other completely.

If I was to predict ESO future it would be.. a little stormy :)

    storm.jpg

    A dangerous story

I was stuck in that storm in a tandem kayak. It was really hot outside and it started sprinkling. My friend said, "Do you think we should go back?" I said, "No, a few sprinkles feels good". A few minutes later, the sky turned black, the kayak flipped over and we were in a very bad situation. I was scared.

Now I have a great reason to play ESO. It is safer. :)

    -Plethora of unaddressed performance issues

    -Lackluster updates and chapters

-Sweeping nerfs/balance changes and bizarre decisions like Incap silence

    -Necro bash

-Continued focus on increasing monetization while neglecting major issues

    -Severe lack of communication

I voted bleak. I don't think the game will be closed down anytime soon as they continue to rake in the dough, but the future looks bleak from the players' perspective.

LOL .. I'm sure the players of classics such as DAOC, as well as games still clinging on in life support such as Rift wish that were true.

The genre is littered with quite a few dead MMOs.

It's also littered with even more alive MMOs about which all the same doomsaying and predictions of an early demise were made - as long as 20 years ago in some cases, yet they're still around. The distinguishing feature of the dead MMOs is that not many people played them, unlike with ESO where there are a lot of players and a comparative few disgruntled forum complainers, quite a few of whom by their own admission don't even play the game anyway.

My prediction for the game is:
Cloudy Sunny with a chance of cheeseballs.

    Prediction for forum is:
Cloudy with a chance of hardballs.

    --Wishing section--

What some of us might hope for:
Stormy and lightning with a chance of Molag Bal

    as well as
Calm with a 100% chance of No lag bal

    That is my analysis

After playing some other lagfree games, trying eso in primetime is horrible lol.

The faction roleplayers and crownbuyers keep spending money on a broken product. It's all ZOS needs it seems to keep going.

Looking at baandari crown crates... they just seem lazy. There are several good pieces, but majority is just ctrl-C, ctrl-V from previous content or between each other. Previous crates, even murkmire ones were much better and inspired. This like nothing else proves that ZOS doesn't put all their efforts in ESO and they work on something else. That's why ESO future looks bleak.
ESO won't be closed, but it be 2nd priority project existing just to milk existing whales and trying to engage new whales with aggressive marketing (and Elsweyr marketing was aggressive one for sure, just compare it to Summerset for example).
