Better to spend alliance points on the elite gear vendor or buy directly from the guild traders?

Just wondering. I have one million alliance points and was wondering if it is worth it to spend it on the elite gear vendor to get my set gear or try the guild trader route?

I need two rings, necklace, one handed sword and shield, and restoration staff of the Robes of Transmutation set fyi.

Either way, that shield alone is gonna cost you.

Tried to get a transmutation shield for my friend and spent just over 3 million AP.
Hope your RNG is better than mine.

PS4, that shield I've seen as low as 120k on traders.

Like I said, either way could cost you big.

I make gold faster and easier than I make AP, so for me it's traders.

Definitely guild traders. Better to just convert AP to gold via golden vendor and buy the stuff from guild traders.

Depends on the set. I decided to get buffer of the swift through AP. Spent 1 mil AP, got all the pieces I needed + sold some of the stuff i didn't need and made around 150k gold.
