Pelletine motifs only dropping once per day?

So... after a bit of experimentation and research with the community - it seems the pelletine motifs only appear to drop once per day - and invariably they drop within your first two boxes on your account once per day... it's almost a certain pattern...

Anyone care to add anything? Kinda makes it pointless hunting the dragons for 9 straight hours per day... lol

I did 4 last night and didn't get any. So i just did something else after not getting anything. Will try again tonight!

It's only the second day, way to early to see a pattern yet. All we know is that the drop will be awful and will only get worse over time.

I was running in a group today, and all had the same findings... everyone I asked in guild - same thing. I jumped on my EU toon, and my wife on hers... same... within the first two boxes pretty much EVERYONE had said they'd gotten a motif - but nothing thereafter.

I ran 24 quests today with the group I was running with... well over 200 boxes from asking others, and only the first two of the day yielded for any of those... I'll report back tomorrow with exact figures.

I've got a motif from my 4th box today.

There is no pattern, there never is one. It's just random.

The only quest I've seen is Dragon Hunt and after we did my share my friend wasn't able to get his. Are there more than 1 quest?

To note, I got bows from my 1st box before reset but nothing from my 2nd after reset.

As far as I know there’s only one Dragon Hunt, but if there’s more than one, it probably works like other dailies in that your friend would have gotten the one you shared anyway, so it wouldn’t allow him to grab a duplicate daily quest.

TLDR his assigned daily was the same as yours and you can’t do the same quest twice

I've got a motif from my 4th box today.

There is no pattern, there never is one. It's just random.

Good observation. It is to early to say there is a pattern or limitation even with OP running with a group both days.

It's like Sinking Summerset - there are two differently coded quests... you can do 2 per day, per character if you get the correct shares

I'm heading in right now to the game - so I'll report back findings. I don't mind lower drop rates etc... but the limitation of one per day would seriously frustrate me (unless it was almost guaranteed).

No its only this one quest but you can do it with more then one char. Did it 5 times yesterday and got one page, not sure tho in if it was box #2...

On the sharing point I tried a few times, if the poster above is correct and there are 2 differently coded quests, I didn't strike lucky with my shares.

It's not going to be limited to one drop per day unless it's a glitch. People are so quick to jump on patterns and superstitions in this game it's silly (not you, talking about this rumor OP is spreading). As others have said it's far too early to notice any pattern, and it's also RNG. No one's being limited to one drop of Pellitine per day unless, again, it's a glitch. But since different people are reporting different results from OP, I'm more liable to believe it's just RNG being RNG.

If I had to guess, you're limited to a drop once in every 20-24 hours, perhaps with a *significantly* lower (like, crazy low) RNG chance on subsequent boxes. You could just run a bunch of dragons, hold on to the coffers (don't peek), and open one per day. This is how it works with the Summerset dailies.

What sort of "proof" would you like? Without a statement from ZOS on drop rates, all we have is "just a whole bunch of anecdotal claims." My own, my guild's, etc. And, please note, I allowed for the provision of a lower RNG rate drop, so I didn't say you are absolutely limited to one per day.

Btw - I was referring to Psijics, not Sapiarchs. Comparing geysers to dragons. I didn't make that clear.

We investigated this last night in our guild event. There seem to be two daily quests - both are called "Dragon Hunt" and they appear to be completely indistinguishable in the quest log. You can pick one up and still be shared the other, provided someone in your group has the one you haven't completed. Best of luck figuring out which is which.

Okay... update:

Seems today can only do one quest per character. 13 run so far - no motifs. My wife has the same outcome... completely zip.

One guildie got a motif in their first box... but after that ... zip.

Then there's no way to 100% say that any of the dailies or other ways of getting chapters are limited to once a day in any capacity. You have to keep in mind that even out of your guilds, friends, and the people here on the forums, that's only a very small number of the player base. What you think as "average" across that small number won't be average across the entire population.

There's no actual backing or proof that these things are only dropping once a day for anyone, without ZOS actually telling us this is the case. As such we really shouldn't be saying, only 3 days after the daily has gone active, that this is the case. The better thing to do if you really expect this is the case is to track data over like a month or so, once averages have had time to even out.

watched jhart farm this on stream first day, he didn't get one until his fifth box.
