Why do (overland) dragons drop only 1 gold?

I have also seen 2 gold dropped. Once.

I noticed today, as far as gold is concerned, that I was only getting 1gp per fight, and I figured the amount of gold you receive from a dragon fight was proportional to the percentage of damage you contributed in taking it down (the dragon).
I simply assumed I wasn't dealing a lot of damage compared to everyone else; mostly because my characters are low-level.

Kinda like how dolmen rewards can be pretty much trash (daedra hearts, etc.) if you don't contribute a lot to the damage pool.

Dragons are hoarders and keep all their gold in their lairs. Duh!

The tougher the mob, the less gold you get in relation to the effort it takes to kill it. Especially when you factor against the resistance and health you have to overcome.

Ah, this would make sense. I'm half naked wearing low level whites, in an effort to make the new content pose at least a minimum of a challenge. I wasn't aware of this mechanic, if true.

Its an 12 player limit on loot, think this is based on damage and healing not random.
its also an time limit on some bosses especially delve ones. If you kill an delve boss you get loot, then an player who has not done delve get close to boss causes the boss to respawn, if you help you just get some gold but then its around 100 gold.

Is that for real?! I get 1 gold for killing a dragon because I couldn't do most of the damage out of 20 people?!

They will start being doable on the 26th this month, the daily quest giver will be right next to the other 2 daily npcs.

Reminds me of the Beta when mobs and bosses only dropped a single gold piece so everything in the game was horribly expensive compared.

They just need one coin to unlock the shopping cart at the mall or if they get lost and want to call their homies from a telephone booth. It's a safety thing.
