Mannequin and weapon plaque idea

A simple [in theory] idea on how to implment the outfit mannequin/weapon rack system that people have been asking for.

The Mannequin
There are 10 different types of Mannequin [one for each race], That when set down you can interact with it to get a menu with three options
1: Copy - copies your currently equiped outfit and dye data onto the Mannequin
2: Calibrate - copies your gender/height/body setup onto the Mannequin.
3: Quit - you close the menu

ideally the mannequin would also copy your weapon style/dye data and strike an appropriate pose for said weapon type equiped, but I would not call it critial to the functionailty of the mannequin.
Also the mannequin would in all likelyhood fall under special furnshings to limit the number of them you can have in a house and if moving a mannequin casues the outfit to despawn on it, then so be it.

The weapon Plaque
There would be a number of different types [racks, wooden plaques, wall hooks, etc] of them however they would all work the same, upon interacting with it you'd get a two option menu
1: copy - copies your currently equiped weapon style/dye onto the rack/plaque/hook/whatever
2: quit - closes the menu

So...what'd you guys think?
Would ya do things differently? if so, how?

I don't mind the idea at all, but what would make it really shine is if you could save each mannequin with a build you can recall from instantly.

while that would be nice, it would also be a nightmare to code and more or less get around respec gold costs without some sort of safeguards which you can bet your bottom dollar will eaither be bypassed/broken within the first week or will be so ham fisted that it stops you using them half the time due to some bug that zos won't address for the next 3 years.

I'd rather if it worked by directly applying an outfit to the mannequin. It can use the same window we use for outfitting, just applied to the mannequin. This way we don't have to apply the outfit to our character first, then to the mannequin, then change our character's outfit back to what they normally wear.

Why do people with some of the most complex and just plain overengineered ideas always say that "It should be simple to implement"?

Not a bad idea, and one of the top requests since Update 13, but as we've been told, that would require creation of an art asset of every possible gear combination in the game. In other words... years of work.

Duplicating your current character as a mannequin with outfit style might possibly work. This was discussed a while back in Housing.

Not really, just make the mannequins be actors and use the existing art. Problem solved.

Because saying that reinforces the idea in their minds that it's possible.

The words 'it should be simple' carry no actual meaning or reasoning. Pretty much just parrot chatter.

Be cool if they at least allowed you to display the relic weapons you buy with crowns
