Starter pack, Adept "deal"

So my girlfriend started to play eso and I told her to get the adept starter pack.
It always was 500 crowns on sale. But now it is 550. Nice job.
Now every new player has to buy the same crown bundle as it was not on sale.
Then I wanted to gift the pack to her. But it is not giftable.
Very motivating. 10/10.

"On sale" means temporary discount and an incentive not to wait because the sale could end at any time. You're lucky it wasn't taken off sale and back to 1000 crowns.

I do agree it's odd not to be able to gift it though.

A bunch of purple training gear and good advice from an experienced player is so much better as a "starter pack" than anything the crown store sells.

Still, anything not gift able should warn you in red if it that's the case.

The Starter Pack Adept contains three costumes, and nice ones at that. This may actually be something people want.

It is very disheartening to see ZOS do this. Such a scummy way of trying to lure new players into spending money, instead of just letting them use up their 500 free crowns.

Same thing happened in previous sales. I think it was International Pet Day, so they discounted some pets in the store. They all had prices like 520/550/600 crowns, always just a little over 500. Pathetic.

There is a similar named one in another area of the crown store which is often on sale at a similar price and is giftable.

I do agree with nord above though.

All 'starter' packs are obviously new player scam though. Better off spending those crowns on something else.

Well. Since my main is a crafter over cp lvl 700, I will of course, craft her training gear, food and psijic ambrosia.

But she would have gotten a horse and some "horse training stuff" ready to use (I do not know the english name), which I own tons of, but that are bound.
And also the costumes mentioned above.
I think it would be a cool pack for the free 500 crowns.
What else would you buy with them?

This is the reason game currency is bad. You can never fully use it and if your short just a few shekels you have to buy more than you need and so the merry-go-round begins

*That* is pathetic? I thought paying for a game by purchasing virtual goods that cost zero to make an additional unit of and are often paint jobs of existing assets, shifting the focus from making games to managing a storefront, was pathetic.

There isn't much to buy with only 500 crowns unfortunately, but if it were me, I'd spend it on a cosmetic i really like since the consumables the starter packs give you are easily obtained in-game (if not worse than what can be crafted), so something like Personality pack (500 crowns for 3 personailities), body/hair styles, a costume, or even basic furniture packs will probably be more desireable later on. Just a suggestion.
