How one Senche-Raht ruined all my mount experience (but I'm happy)

Am I crazy? Is it just me?..

When I'm about to enter a new zone, I carefully work on my charachetr's look. The outfit should fit climate and terrain, and also the local fashion. A mount was always a part of the look - a sturdy camel for sands of Alik'r, a mighty bear for snowy Skyrim, a mysterious lizard-wolf for swamps of Murkmire. Horses for noble streets of Summerset, gorgeous dwarven spider for Clockwork City, and an entire herd of guars for different parts of Morrowins and Vvardenfell.

But a couple of weeks ago I got my Senche-Raht. Now I don't need any other mounts. He... he's a companion. He wants to see the world. He deserves to see the wonders of Artaeum, he wants to defeat daedra in their very nest - Coldharbour. From now on, we will travel together. My mount collection is complete. I can't imagine any other steed now. Even delightful Baandari mounts will not tempt me. For a house - yes! To ride? Never.

Now to some mundane details: IMO, Senche-Raht has the best animation among mounts. And he fits any and all climate - be it Alik'r desert, Murkmire swamp or snowy Skyrim hills. And his face... Oh my, he is so smart! I wish he talked while we travel!

Is it just me? Or someone else is also charmed by a Senche-Raht so much?

You're not alone. When you see him on the loading screen, his eyes speak of hidden wisdom. When you point and suggest a sprint, he obliges. Sometimes I wonder if he's smarter than my toons... probably :D

I adore him so much! <3

I usually select my mount based on character not terrain (except for camels in the desert ofc). So for a Cathay the Senche-Raht would be my go to mount (even in the desert). It's a really cool lore friendly option and not one of the ugly ones. Those would be any magical glowing bling-bling mount and pretty much any of the stuff made up for mount options (dwemer (kind of), Senche (kind of), bears, wolves and nixes). So yeah I can totally understand you.
I have only one problem with it and its NPC kind. It really fits the description of the Senche, not Senche-Raht and should be named thus. To differentiate it from the animalistic beasts of the same name, those just need to continue behind called Senche[insert feline predator]. I want to see true battlecats in the game (allegedly 2 altmer tall ~ 4m).

On the one hand I think it's unnatural riding on sentient beeings.
I just can't imagine riding piggyback on another Saxhleel.
    Seems silly...
On the other hand maybe it's nice having someone to talk to when traveling long distances.

I rather keep working on training those Wamasu, but they are kinda bitey and hard to tame...still i won't give up until these mighty beasts are domesticated for long distance travel or maybe at least for battle alongside my cliff racers, bull netch and shalks ! :hushed:

Having a sentient mount means you can both comfort each other when you're both scardy cats afraid of heights.

Yeah same here, I knew the moment I saw it in the collector's edition that it'd be my permanent mount. Nothing beats a Senche-raht companion to help you travel around.

    Except a different Senche-raht maybe.

It'd be cool to have various looking Senche-raht hanging out in my house, alongside the 2 Alfiq that I hope to get eventually. If only the Senche-raht had a little dialogue when in a house, that'd be perfect.

Not a cat person, so I don't see the appeal of the mount.

I just use the mount, I like the most, until I see the next one I like the most. Tempted to repeat that for a few paragraphs but am too lazy.

I’m actually disappointed with it because I hate the way it runs. It clomps around and the sound is horrible. I love the way it looks and was really looking forward to making it my main, but I guess I just really prefer how silent and smooth the normal Senche is.

That is not a dwarven spider but a fabricant nix ox. Fabricants are not dwemer but of sotha sil's design. Infact, everything you are wearing even the pet isnt dwemer, but clockwork.

The game has to classify senche-raht as "mounts" because that's how the programming works.

But lore-wise, to the Khajiit, the senche-raht are battle companions and comrades-in-arms. The fact that they can carry a smaller Khajiit is something they turn to their collective advantage -- they fight together as one, and can team up to take down larger enemies, or work within larger tactical schemes that simply overwhelm opposing forces. As intelligent as horses are, it wold be extremely rare for a horse and rider to separate and then gang up two-on-one. But senche-raht and Khajiit fighters can and will as a matter of tactics.

The sentient cat-folk see their various forms all as just various aspects of the moons. To us humans, who are largely homogeneous in appearance yet still get bent out of shape over the slightest physical differences, it makes the Khajiit rather alien and hard to understand. We truly can't apply human preconceptions to them. And that's awesome.

Every time I see a senche-raht I think of Denis Leary for some odd reason.

And I imagine it singing "Merry F'n Christmas" in Denis Leary's voice (I won't post a link, but you can find it on YouTube if you don't mind some crude language).

Reported for mentioning positive things about the Senche-Raht animation triggering me. The Senche-Raht looks cool standing there. However, the riding animation is an abomination. I can't bear to even ride it because of the animation of those front legs. WTF is going on with those elbows/upper legs? Does it have huge tumors? Does the mount need baby powder for all the chaffing? Does it have elephantiasis of the elbows? Looks horrendous!

Dude pls reread the posts... It is funny when you make such basic mistakes. The guy I quoted typed he was using Dwarven spider for the CWC and I have typed he needs something better for CWC and posted screen of my char using CWC pet and CWC fabricant nix-ox so your post doesn't make 1 bit of sense
