I am personally not interested in this game turning into WoW

A lot of the suggested improvements I've read appear to have been WoW inspired. I actually like the game the way it is. When I came back to playing MMORPGs, there's a reason why I gave ESO another chance instead of going back to WoW; I didn't like what WoW had to offer anymore. It became dull and unenjoyable vs. ESO that became an excellent game since PC Beta. I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way but in general, functions of game are fine as it is and IMO, should stay the way it is. Performance on the other hand, that's a different story.

    I don’t know anything about WOW.

    I’ve heard people compare this game to it from time to time.

    I’ve also heard people compare this game to Dark Souls and FarmVille.

    I’m not too familiar with those either.

    I guess some examples of what not to do would be needed.

    No. I'd rather that you didn't. The less that I know about WoW, the better.
    That includes any comparative sales data.

    There was a many very good things in WoW - like players, who wants to play with other players, not sit in the corner and do solo quests. This is first MMO, where i feel myself alone even when a literally a hordes of players around.

    Maybe the global AH or flying mounts or capes....

    None of those are exclusive to WoW though.

    Tried WoW but not enough to know what exactly would be a bad idea from it. Actually would like to know.

    And as others said, surely some things were good. Not the graphics though, hate stylized cartoony crap, just to much of it nowadays as well.

    Same, and I hope everyone who wants ESO to turn into WoW gets their accounts banned.

    I too like posting about supposed suggested improvements that I've apparently read without listing off any specific names of said improvements.

    I think the OP mainly refers to the less inspired dlc content and such that it goes downhill likr WoW did after its second expansion. Not to mention the increasing lack of social coherence and constant increasing the grinds for stuff, meanwhile trying to squeeze more and more money from players. But then again it can be said about alot of games these days...

    WoW does somethings better than what ESO (performance being one of them), nothing wrong with pointing that out. Those are the two games that I play, so I judge them both based on the other.

    I have listed before things I like about WoW that I would welcome in ESO:
    • A queue estimate time, sometimes during the weekend I like to queue for dungeons while doing house work, so I'm not in front of the computer to see the queue pop up, this would be specially useful, because ESO's warning is barely audible;
    • Being able to check the patterns and recipes I have collected without having to go to a woodworking, blacksmithing, clothing station;
    • A clock that is visible without having to go into the menu;
    • A way to check my characters outside of the game, like the Armory, it's a great way to keep track of character information without having to log into them and is also good to show other players if you need help with gearing, etc. (being a new player, this would be a great way to get feedback about build, etc.).

    There are many differences between the two games that come down to how they are managed, and the culture that is build around them. Those I just try to accept, for better or worse, although I will voice my opinion on the matter. I will point out though things that are basic, like the list above, or bow paladin for WoW. Oh how many times have I raved about bow templar on the WoW forums. Alas, to no avail...yet :#

    I concur, the recent changes to the game feel different somehow. I don’t like.

    Damn. Effing. Straight. Dude. It seems that recently, more and more of these kids are trying to indirectly steer this game into a WoW clone, or at least make all kinds of ridiculous "suggestions" that would steer it into a WoW clone if ZOS actually listened.....

    Graphics wise, ESO is more demanding and WOW doesnt have large scale PVP like ESO with 100 players on each sides casting abilities.

    Oh if global AH is WoW-esque then give me wow. It was cute--actually kidding, the guild trader was never cute. Just a huge hassle.
    • Before traders you have to join 3-4 trader guilds just to reliably sell well.
    • After traders, guilds are dying because guild leaders can't keep up with competition of bidding, requiring donations and sell requirement and a lot of micromanaging to keep people interested to keep them running. Getting burnt out just to have the privilege to sell in game.
    • Tamriel Trade Centre bypasses the issue-for the most part-of not having a central AH hub, without bypassing the issues guild leader deal with. If I want something I just Tamriel Trade Centre. The only time I don't is if it's something so common and cheap that it's couple hundred gold. Everyone serious about buying/selling using TTC already.

    ESO has such a beautiful world in my opinion. Unfortunately, and what I found myself thinking last following how beautiful the world is, I do not fell compelled to explore. It's a large beautiful, mostly wasted world with big dungeons and delves. And why should I go down that path when I know there won't be anything down there. Even the trash if you horde it and sell it on merchant is not worth the chump change you get for it. Anything of value is instanced dungeon, overland, or is more easily farmed by rushing past any exploration for the easy access parts. Or a quest will tell you where to go.

    I can't even remember the last time I seen a master chest overland, more less inside a dungeon. Can they even spawn in a dungeon?

    I wish there was some kind of loot table that was exclusive to exploration and dungeon delving rather than the same stuff you farm running around doing WBs, Dolmen or overland chests. Maybe the ability to find and loot rare furniture items to put in your home (like how UO had). Not a recipe to drop, the same super common one you've already learned and sells for nothing so you just merchant it all.
