Necro Justice System is Getting Old

Now let me preface this with that I have no problems with the system in of itself. My issue is coming from a console perspective using the controller. Whenever I exit out of my inventory or out of the menu screen, sometimes when you press the button it doesn't allow you to. Or it may be lag. Either way, sometimes when you press twice to get it to exit out, it will trigger the ability you have slotted. In my B slot, it's the Intensive Mender ability which is a criminal act around NPCs.

I'm not sure how to rectify this issue other than to not have my necro abilities slotted. Which is a no go. And I guess the argument can be made to be more patient when exiting out of menus. But there needs to be a better way to handle this issue as you don't have this issue on PC being that you can map your controls to alternate buttons because of the keyboard.

Again. I don't know how ZOS can resolve this.

Consider mapping B to something else then.
On my Steam controller, I use B as my spammable so that would be Ricochet Skull which isn't illegal.

But if I hit something then it's just as bad really, but that applies to any class.

I don't main necro so I am unsure how annoying this is for players but seeing as more and more people are upset about it, should probably make a megathread with a poll who want the criminal acts removed from the skills. Unsure.

best of luck to all necros.

I must be the only Necromancer player in existence, that has not suffered any bounties from an Illegal Act, outside of... One time, because I was testing what triggers an illegal act.

Turns out that essentials aren't bothered by your Necromancy, while non-essentials are.

Unlike on PC, console players have a limited keybinding option. I always put my pet abilities on the 4th and 5th slot, which is your Left and Right Shoulder button. You're less likely to hit those in most circumstances. As for the B / Circle Button, I generally put spells that either require a target or something I can button mash spam.

I don’t hate the system itself necessarily, just the half arsed way it is implemented...
For one it just applies to necromancers, while vampires can just mist form through towns, werewolves can transform, sorcerers can call daedra etc....

All in all it looks half arsed and like a rush job....

I use the same console UI on PC. It's trivial to change which skill is on which button.

Use the back button to exit menus. I usually map the B button to a self heal but it is still annoying to trigger a skill when you just want to exit a menu or crafting station. Since no skills are mapped to the back button, the worst that would happen is opening your map.

On PC, Force Lock is the R key. Unfortunately, that's also the default Ultimate activation key. Try forcing a safebox in the Fighter's Guild, nothing happens because of server lag, so press it again to be sure, turn into a Bone Goliath, and watch all hell break loose.

No issues here, though I did test it. Nothing like racking up a 70k bounty in seconds lol

Yes, it has been implemented poorly. Hopefully it will be expanded to included other criminal acts, like becoming a werewolf in town, being a vampire stage X, summoning a daedra etc etc.

Whilst we're on the topic of criminal acts, some options:
    • The criminal act of murder should flag the player-character so they are able to be attacked by any other player that witnessed the event, and once they're fighting any other player-character can join in. Players can also aid guards when they are attacking a player-character.
    • The criminal act of pick-pocketing and stealing should place a the appropriate bounty on the character if another player-character is within a certain radius of that, i.e. they have 'witnessed' the event (Just like if the witnessing PC was an NPC). Those player-characters then could have the option to target the criminal player-character and <E> interact with them to alert near by guard/s.
What is in-game currently is a half-finish justice system, that they stopped implementing for whatever reason. But it needs to be completed. Development: If you begin something, you need to finish it. Otherwise we have the unfinished and messy situation that is currently in-game now.

If you can be anything, be kind.

Can't take it at face value. Gotta understand the lore, understand the history, understand the land itself. There actually are reasons for a lot more than the average player realizes.

Accidentally cast a 'bad' spell in town twice now, that's all. The bounty isn't all that bad, I find it amusing. Just play carefully and it's not a big deal (IMO).

The fact that other undesirable traits (wolf/vamp/daedric summons) go unnoticed while also being frowned upon according to lore, odd to say the least

This Criminal Act system is brand new, whenever ZOS implements a new thing they never go balls to the wall off the bat. They may be adding Werewolves, Vampires, and even the Sorcerer Daedric magic skills into it in future updates. Even Nightblades have some Blood Magic skills and I'm sure Tamriel doesn't like Blood Magic.

My Dunmer has called forth an ancestor spirit to heal him in his time of need within the a town before.

Sadly the town people ignored the subtle difference between an ancestor assisting you and the vile art of Necromancy calling forth the town guards. May the three take them for their ignorance as all loyal members to the Tribunal know that Necromancy is bad... well except for perhaps on lesser races when you need to carry a few extra things into the house. This certainly was not that. That time.

I had to rebind some keys as I had accidentally committed a criminal act when I forgot I was on the frontbar not the back.

What I do find a bit weird and irritating is that sometimes I forgot that when I was running back to claim my prize for saving the town, they hated on me because my beloved deaduns were following loyaly in my footsteps. Now that is gratitude for you.

Wow, my dead buddies don’t last that long to make it back to town with them still alive. Are you on a max horse with rapids and the steed Mundus?

It’s only happened to me once. I was too close to the camp when trying to save the Coral Heart from Alexandra Conelle. Hasn’t happened since.

No. I don't want to PvP. Like never. You have Cyrodiil, battlegrounds and duels for that. Leave my PvE playstyle alone, thank you very much.
