Would drastic data loading changes help server stability for individual players?

I'm talking about DRASTIC chunks of data that's cut out:
- all pets other than your own
- all assistants other than your own
- other than yourself, all players around you loaded as generic faction soldiers you see in Cyrodiil -- no outfits, no custom gear, not even custom faces
- all mounts other than your own replaced with standard first mount you get from the game

Yeah, everyone around you would look like a clone. But with huge chunks of graphics and movement data chopped out, would that help loading times and stabilize connections?
And I think some of this stuff might not be hard to code.

To be clear we're not talking strictly graphics here. For example with pets, we would not be loading any data on where they are and what they are doing in real-time. Multiplied by all the pets around you. I figure that's a good chunk of data load that's poofed.

Seems like it would cut down pretty severely on load issues - to an extent. The problem I fear is not that it wouldn't help much but that it would be extra work for something they don't want to implement. Being able to show off your mounts and pets and outfits and characters is a key aspect of a game like ESO, which is not only about building your characters uniquely but also bases its monetization off of cosmetics.

Of course this is true, but I'd rather be able to play the game than constantly reload to see someone's pet.
They could lump it all together with the current switch to turn off grass -- already a pretty severe move if someone has to use it.

It would likely help performance on your end, due to your own hardware restrictions. But the majority of ESO's problems are server side, so you would still get a ton of what you are used to.
