I don't have major Fracture in my kit and I don't want to bother friends. Furthermore I got my hands on a full perfected Lokkestiiz body set and I really need the synergy. I make all my parses on trial dummy now, almost 70k dps with my 2H/Bow Stamsorc :)

the question is - does that trial dummy lead you to a self-deception? The guy who do 25k can go to trial dummy and BAM, he is 35k+ now. Does he lie to himself ?

Trial one. I've lost Major Fracture at least on NB so parses on the regular dummy have plummeted and don't really represent the buffs I'd normally have (on DK, parses got inflated a bit, on the other hand). New dummy is a good way to get discrepancy between availability of built-in class buffs out of the picture and compare just what a class (and player) can do.

I was strongly against trial one, until I tried it. It such a pleasure when you don't need to debuff it yourself.

I think trial one is roughly +50% to dps in comparison to 6M and given that it is 21M chance for "lucky parse" is lower and overall result more stable and so less chance for self-deception. Most self-deceptive dummy is 3M imo.

The 3 million dummy is a deceitful little liar? Interesting B)

Well, first of all, the higher dps the less sustain investment is needed. Second due to how RNG works results will have lower variation. And execute zone on 3M is so small that this is literally cowboy duel with dummy, and resulting dps may vary wildly depending how execute part was performed and with which crit chance.

    How would that work?

Parses aren't standardized across dummies. 35k on the standard dummy =/= 35k on the trial dummy. 35k on the standard dummy is 65k on the trial dummy.

    No option for both?

To know how my toon will likely perform in 4 man teams I do self buffed 6m parses. To compare my skill level overall with others I use the trial buffed dummy instead.

For instance, I know that I should use storm fist instead of Velidreth on my StamSorc when I there is very little group dynamics to make sure I can sustain.

Both have pro's and cons. The question is... What do you want to see from the parse you did? And then, which dummy will best reflect this?

I dont do alot dummy parses but did recently to see if vma staff actually is worth the loss of my 5th piece set bonus (julianos, yes im an experienced noob and still use that).

Anyway the results where almost same for me on 3M and 6M test dummy (23k), i’m sure that means i do it wrong but what?
PS4 so dont know more details.

Trial dummy is better for cross-class comparisons and lets you run your rotation without having to apply ele drain yourself. It also means that when a trial guild sets a dps limit it can now be based on a dummy where everybody has the same buffs/debuffs applied.

Of course there are drawbacks. It over-inflates the dps of crit increasing sets since major force is up 100% of the time. It also takes 5 minutes or so to parse on it, which is a fair while.
