If ZOS Was Willing: Would You Like To See An Improved Factions Story?

With DLCs like Orsinium and Clockwork City showing that ZOS is more than capable of telling compelling and well written stories that live up to the franchises lore. Do you think you would like to see ZOS go back and touch up the Alliance Storylines?

These changes would not touch the over all plot of the story, change or eliminate any major or favored characters, nor would it impact side quests (unless side quests were no longer relevant due to MQ changes).

I'm not sure what your proposal entails exactly... If the Alliance plotlines remain the same and use the same NPCs, are you talking about sharpening the dialog writing? Or do you have something else in mind?

Orsinium and Clockwork City aren't my personal high points in the game. What makes them special to you? TBH, I remember little about CC except the Sotha Sil conversation at the end. That stuck with me. The rest? Not really. Same with Orsinium-- there were a few oustanding NPCs, but what I remember most was the awful gameplay.

Your suggestion is far to generalized to understand what you are actually suggesting.

You start off talking about "touching up" the stories but then you suggest the changes could be major enough that some side quests may no longer make sense. From light changes to huge major changes that affect the Zone.

Personally, I quite like the original stories. Sure they could be made better in places, but really they're done with now. ZoS won't touch it, and will just move forward with new content story-lines. As it should be I think, after all they cannot do everything and I would much rather them work on new content than redo old for the most part.
If you can be anything, be kind.

The question is meant to be generalized. Its not meant to suggest anything in particular like specific changes but rather a question to others if they think the OG zones deserve a second pass if ZOS was willing to spend the resources doing it. As for the side quests, if they no longer make sense in the presence of whatever changes ZOS made. Obviously they would need to be removed. Since most side quests in zones are one offs that have no impact on the over arching story. Most would never be touched and thus, not a major change.

Hope that clears things up for you.

Do I want them to update the stories? No.

Do I want them to update the look of the zones so that they match the quality we see in later zones? Yes.

I voted yes but I change my mind. I would only want this if the approach to quest design was being reworked to be less theme park/train track style, and more player driven RPG style which none of the DLC's you cited do.

see, i'm kinda with other people in the thread, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "taking another pass" or whatever at the story. I mean, sure, I'd love it, if they had unlimited time and resources, to do another pass - maybe punch up some language here or there, correct some spelling/grammar errors that might still be lingering, or some confusing phrases or whatnot - maybe even pad out the language some more

but, I'm not really sure it's necessary, and there's no guarantee that with another pass, the writing would get significantly better, and it could get worse - truth be told, I'm moderately satisfied with the main alliance storyline writing as is - I like the main questline, I liked the DC questline, I liked most of the EP storylines and the only real fault I found with the AD storyline was the almost comically predictable string of betrayals. Otherwise, the story writing for the three major zones and most of the dlc's I've rather liked, and even the ones I haven't liked haven't necessarily been badly written, they're just stylistically different than something I like (again, except for the AD stuff which started to wander into hack territory)

so, sure, I wouldn't mind a rewrite, but given a universe with limited resources and time, I think the alliance storylines are good as is for the most part, and tolerable when they're bad, and still titanically more enjoyable than the writing for a lot of other MMO's that I've played, so, if they want to spend those resources fixing bugs, optimizing, and making the ridiculous group-finder work better, THAT is where I'd prefer they spend their resources.

I prefer the alliance storylines in each and every zone over any of the DLC/Chapter zone storylines.
