Old player returns

Hi there,

I bought the base game a few years ago and I wonder what should I buy in order to have everything I haven't bought/played yet (DLCs, expansions...) and what's the best approach to do so (buy a specific expansion + paying ESO+, buying X + Y so it includes Z...).
I ask this because there's so much that has been added to the game during the time I haven't played it that it feels kinda overwhelming, you know?

Also, I though this is the right place to ask before posting, but not really sure (Maybe @ players help players?), so please forgive if this question doesn't belong to this subforum.

If you're on PC then ESO Plus right now will get you everything in the game except the very latest expansion (Elsweyr), if you're on console this will become true as of June 4th.

ESO+ gives you all story DLC, Dungeon DLC and previous expansions (they become DLC a year later when the next releases), so as today is the Elsweyr early access on PC then Morrowind and Summerset will now be DLC for PC.

Depending on the content you're interested in and how long it takes you to play it all you could just continue to play on ESO Plus until you run out and then purchase Elsweyr and future expansions as they come out.

    i reccomend watch this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SAt9LWt2q4

nixxiom himself also quite new to the game, but the tips that he said on that video quite spot on

but from me is, DONT BUY DLC, just use ESO+, not only you will get access to all dlcs (excluding current chapter), you will also get crown + crafting bag, which is very much the most OP thing in the game

You want Orsinium in order to do vMA. Many of those weapons are still BiS for your backbar. Except for Orsinium it gets way more dependant on your specific build. I'd personally go for Summerset too, in order to get the Psijic Skill line.

Buy the Elsweyr full Edition for 60 bucks (That would also give you the base game), if you only have the base game, its a great Deal, because you get Morrowind, Summerset and Elsweyr with it.
I dont know if it still comes with the other bonuses now that its no longer a preorder, but overall I think its a good deal if you need all 3 expansions.

You do as you see fit @Ifridos, it depends on how much you like the game for how it is in terms of the overall design, structure as well as pretty much it’s whole entirety, for there is a lot of lore you can delve into, lots of different things such as trials, fishing, crafting, etc. so much one mind can do in such little time in such an immersive game.

That and I’m waiting till June 4th for Elsweyr since I already pre-ordered the deluxe digital upgrade back 3 months from now.(or more accurately since the pre-order popped into the microsoft store on xbox live.)
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

Thank you all for your answers.
Having read all of you, I'm getting ESO+ and once I "complete" everything I might be getting Elsweyr.

With the One Tamriel update you can go to do any over-land quests or storylines in any order you want, but in terms of release order if you are curious it would be:
    - your home alliance quest line + the main story ("five companions) + Cyrodiil questing hubs/random overland one-shot quests
    - Craglorn + other two alliance quest lines
    - Imperial City (DLC with medium zone)
    - Orsinium (DLC with large zone)
    - Thieves Guild (DLC with medium zone)
    - Dark Brotherhood (DLC with medium zone)
    - Morrowind (Chapter - large zone)

    - Shadows of the Hist (DLC - dungeons only)
    - Horns of the Reach (DLC - dungeons only)

    - Clockwork City (DLC with medium zone)
    - Dragon Bones (DLC - dungeons only)
    - SUMMERSET (Chapter - large zone)
    - Wolfhunter (DLC - dungeons only)
    - Murkmire (DLC - medium zone)
    - Wrathstone (DLC - dungeons only)

Craglorn and Imperial City are totally stand alone.

Orsinium is stand-alone but there is a very brief, very small hint about the Morrowind-Clockwork City-Summerset storyline at the end.

Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are totally stand alone.

Morrowind, Clockwork City, and Summerset have their own stories but they form a larger, connected story.

    Murkmire is totally stand alone.

Most of the dungeons-only DLC are stand alone, but Wrathstone (which is as of this date the latest content) is tied to all other content released in 2019.

The next content to be released in a chapter set in Elsweyr.
