I really enjoyed that area in oblivion.
the sky was maddeningly colorful and I only ever wanted it to be night time, the befittingly weird quests that took place. the fact that the land itself was split between dark, depressing, and scary on one side, and then bright, vibrant, and colorful on the other.
as oblivion was classic fantasy at the time having its largest expansion take you to an incredibly exotic zone that showed off such a contrasting experience was a lot of fun, that first time your in the room that evaporates into butterflies.
I hope we get to go visit it again sometime, or other daedric realms, I mention it specifically because it avoided the hellscape of some kind trope that is associated with the daedric realms we have visited (though I did want to see more of the evergloom proper, I like that aesthetic)
but particularly the mania side of the shivering isles at night, it was so foreign and SO colorful, I would not mind going crazy there.
on a side note during the mages guild quest in ESO it was the deciding reason in letting whats her face go crazy and stay with Sheo, I knew where she was going and would not stop that
ESO player since beta.
game got too disappointing.
