Request for new class, ACTUAL Necromancer

    Necromancers need more permanent pets, not momentarily “skeleton-shaped” spells. If generic npc necromancers in Skyrim can walk around with pets for several minutes or longer, there is no reason the players can’t in ESO.

    Actualy ES lore is all about temporary pets for necro. And no army of pets either most of the time.

    Its like if templar where asking for meridia's powers. Your necro won't be manimarco.

    Actualy you canr aise like 3 undead at once and the vast majority of necro in ES lore can,t raise more then 1. Manimarco isn't eveyrone and their mother. He is the most powerfull necro that ever existed.

    You're thinking Lich. Not Necromancer. All Necro's in all TES games have always had "temporary" summons.

    Not true, skyrim can have 2 permanant revived pet.

    Their are game with armyr of pets that are balanced(dark age of camelot comes to mind and cyrodile is based upon this game PvP .

    Personaly I'm all for the no permanant pet but these 2 points are invalid.

    TYVM but I have enough problems with twilight flappy wings, bears and scamps/clannfears when delivering writs. I do not need more trolls standing for hours on writ delivery crates with their pets.

    Actually since Necromancy is illegal there wouldn't be any Necro pets allowed in towns or cities. Guards would instantly attack you for forgetting to dismiss your pet before entering any place with guards about. That would have made for interesting gameplay.

    Would be very unbalanced. This is an MMO after all, balance should come first.

    Age of Conan managed to do a good job with Necro and with balance which is based on Dev skill set. GW2's Necro is effective with or without pets. It's not like other games have those problems with them.

    Summoned undeads were always temporary in the Elder Scrolls lore.

    They are not your little dogs that you care and love, they are tools a Necromancer calls upon to complete a task for him, and after that they outlived their usefullness.

    Right, and we'll never see dragons in ESO...

    Temporary necro summons are fine.

    While I would agree we do not need more classes to be little more than a duplicate a Sorc, it is a little dramatic to suggest pet sorcs are a nightmare.

    What the actual fudge are you talking about?

    In each of last 3 TES games (Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim... I haven’t checked the others) Conjuration spells were all timed. Permanent armies of anything have not been a thing.

    Actually that is not true, you could use Star of Azura to make them a permanent summon for the constant effect

    Permanent pet armies would cause Cyrodiil servers to implode. That can’t happen.

    But we CAN start asking for a new World skill line to sit alongside Vampires and Werewolves. Liches. They’re essentially Uber-necromancers in TES lore. Perma-armies might be out of the question, but I’d love an ultimate that summons a temporary horde of undead, unleashed from a Lich’s black soul gem collection for example. Could work as part of an Underking themed Chapter. Liches taking advantage of a war-torn Tamriel.

    Total lag fest. So nopers.

    But what I would really love to see is better pet control for the ones currently in the game and future pets. Like ability bars for pets and having better ways of control their aggro and what they attack would be stupendous.

    But this is not Conjuration. This is necromancy. Something that NPC's have been shown to have all the time in the game. And those reanimated bodies seemed to last as long as they wanted.

    Fine. When your characters all become NPCs then you can permanent summons.

    While you still want to be a player then your abilities can act like they always have.

    Not quite the way this could work...

    Its not that Liches are Über-Necromancers, it is that Über-Necromancers usually go and become undead Liches rather then lie down and die when they get to that point.

    So, the world "status" skill line would be "Undead" or something like that, which people could then make as "Lich" in magica flavor, or as "Death Knight" as stamina flavor...

    ...which totally would be an option someday. Though perhaps difficult to implement, as rotting corpses or walking skeletons could have even less chances at passing for mortals to avoid trouble with the justice guards... it would take a real supreme being to pull that one off...

    I love the constant mention of "conjuration." I know it's what the school is called in ESO lore, but it makes it sound like someone has a daedroth stuck up his sleeve.

    Sounds like a great idea for a single-player game.
