Could you take a screenshot of your ESO launcher with the game options menu open?

This will help us to determine why the repair option is missing from your ESO launcher.

It looks like the launcher progress bar is stuck preventing the launcher from updating. The steps below can help you get updated which may stop ESO from crashing.
    1. Open the launcher in administrator mode, you can do this by right clicking on the launcher and selecting "Run as administrator" from the drop down menu.
    2. Go to game options. This is located in the middle of the launcher under the news feed.
    3. Cancel any update in progress.
    4. Return to game options and select settings.
    5. In setting change auto update from always to never.
    6. Press apply.
    7. Select the cog wheel up the top right hand corner of the launcher.
    8. Select the megaserver you want to change to (EU or NA)
    9. Once this is complete go back to game options and select check for updates. This should start to patch the game for your new server.
    10. If it does not patch select repair from game options and wait for the repair to finish.
    11. Once the repair has finished select check for updates.

You can ignore the step for selecting the megaserver.

If you have changed auto update to never, go under game options and select check for updates. This should start the launcher patching again. If it doesn't try the repair option under game options.

Thanks for the update. The next step you can take is deleting the program data folder, restarting, then attempt repairing again. Steps for deleting this folder are listed below.

    Delete the Program Data
    1. Close the ESO Launcher.
    2. Navigate to the patch installation folder,
    3. By default, this folder will be located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\Launcher\ProgramData.
    4. Locate and delete the ProgramData folder.
    5. Restart the ESO Launcher.

Idk about the launcher update, but my brother had a similar problem with the black screen and music and then crash although it was much shorter duration. Turns out it had to do with a corrupted sound driver. No idea if that will help you, but it’s pretty easy to go to device manager and check to see if any drivers need updating. This is not something that is done automatically and requires manually right clicking on each device and then checking for updates.

At this point the issue may be with the launcher itself or a connection issue. Let's try getting rid of your current launcher and downloading a new one. Go to the Launcher folder and delete it. You can find this by default at C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\Launcher. Once you have deleted the folder, download the ESO Launcher from your account management page here to reinstall it.

Thank you for the update. Since a new launcher has not helped, let's go ahead and reinstall ESO on your PC. Under game options is the option to uninstall ESO. Once the uninstall is finished, reboot your PC and start installing ESO again. Please let us know if any errors come up during this process.

@ZOS_BillE, Yes, obviously, it helped. But it is a very long process. Very regrettable resort to it. It is a pity that we did not know what was the cause of the problem.
