Templar tank healing (Don't change Honor the dead)

I see a lot of people asking for a good burst self heal for templar tanks. Something based off of max health. What I am afraid of is people are trying to push ZOS to focus in on honor the dead.

I run a tanky magplar build in pvp and I use honor the dead. The heal is still very strong and the magicka return is extremely helpful. It is the best option for solo or small group players in pvp and definitely the best option for solo pve. It is easy to ensure you heal yourself because it is directional. But, I am still able to save someone if I so choose (some people just aren't worth saving).

If the push for a templar self heal is that strong I suggest changing repentance. Since restoring focus now gives stamina the stamina return from repentance is not so much needed anymore. The minor resource regen for having it slotted and a self heal based on health would be perfect for a tank.

I am running a Templar PVE Tank (hybrid stam is slightly higher than mag), currently, I am running honor the dead on my bar, basically only for when my healer dies. Although perhaps I'd prefer to have Meditate but the Psijic quests can't be done if your character doesn't have the wayshrines. Its is a only for an emergencies heal. Is my stam that gets drained from my leeshing and blocking so i am not having trouble with my resources.

Stamplars need repentance though so you can't change that, unfortunately.

I am using honor the dead for the emergency heal in the current state, perhaps there is some kind of compromise where it can be duel scaling %hp or spell/mag whichever is higher

What about one of the morphs of healing ritual? I noticed it seems to no longer have an awkward cast time and I don't believe it is extremely popular. Or at least, not enough that both morphs would be missed. Maybe?

Theres alot that needs to and could be adjusted with a templar. Probably the easiest class to balance because they really dont have anything.

I think changing repentance to a self heal and keep the minor resource regen when slotted would be perfect for stamplars. They are already getting resource return through restoring focus so a burst self heal without the need of bodies laying around would really bring the survivability of a stamplar in line with the magplars.

I play tankplar in PvE and its self healing is more than fine in my opinion. Honor the Dead is my burst heal of choice, for example. Paired with Cleansing ritual, you can proc healing sets easily, if you require additional healing in tough situations.

Repentance is one of the tools that allows us, non DK/warden tanks, utilize a stam pull - Silver leash - effectively. With big trash packs that your group kill fast enough you can get continuous stamina return and 'chain in' further adds without any problems. Moreover, repentance also heals you and allies per corpse. So I strongly disagree with the proposed change of Repentance, the skill is making lives of PvE templar tanks so much more easier and enjoyable, it would be a shame to take this amazing utility away.

And honestly, templars are the embodiment of healing in this game.. just how much more healing could you possibly need..

well i dont use class heal on my tankplar, HoD heal me for around 6k and its not 100% chance its heal only me, and blazing ward give me 17k+ shield with lesser cost. For me its beter and cheaper preventing inc DMG then try healself.
