I somehow was in combat at the north EP gate...I walked away to wait it out and think it booted me for inactivity before I could even get the chance to port out of combat. Neat feature ZoS 10/10.

Had the same issue a few days ago. I really just don't trust ZOS anymore when they say they are going to work on a fix. It always either returns after a short while, breaks the game making it worse, or takes at the very least 6 months to a year + before they even attempt to fix it and then the issues above normally happen starting the cycle all over again.

This is one of those things that they “fixed” and have since moved on from.

Or make it so we can still slot stuff. Nothing worse then being trapped in permanent combat and unable to slot siege. What was the reason for this anyway?

Alt-tab -> task manager -> force quit usually solves the issue. Sorry, this is only way to get rid of it without dying AFAIK.

After being in a contentious conversation with the devs about this , I can assure you it's just as annoying to them as it is to me. If they knew what caused the problem, they would fix it. It's not a matter of them not caring, not wanting, not bothering, etc. It's that they do not know what is causing the problem. There are devoting resources to it, but the fact of the matter is more resources have to be devoted to things like Elsweyr zone, Sunspire Trial, Necro class, etc.

This is something that they changed for the PTS. It's just not in the patch notes.

Dying has no guarantees of getting out of combat.
