why I, as a long time PvP'r, want a PvE version of cyrodiil (oh here we go!)

I want my pvp to run smooth, and I want to pvp against other pvp players, to that end (and another world reason) I really want a pve version of Cyrodill

first the pvp side:

I want pve'rs out of my pvp zone, I don't want people taking up pop cap on any faction just so they can go do quests, get skyshards, do dungeons, etc. the same reason imperial city is getting its own queue, overland pvp wants the players exclusively in it and contributing to the alliance war in some fashion (or AFK in keeps, you do you)

to this end I would like it if in the pvp version of cyrodiil:
-dungeon access was removed
-overland mobs were removed
-resource nodes were removed

this is all pve stuff that does have an effect on performance (remember the great deer purge to reduce lag) just get all that stuff out, remove those calculations on the server and let us just fight.

for the pve side

I want the pve version of cyrodiil to not be an alliance war queue but a part of the overworld map and the gates opened up on those respective zones connecting to cyrodiil, I want to be able to walk from eastmarch, down into the rift, into cyro, through cyro, down to the rawl gate, into rawl, to malbal tor, and into greenshade. it would be really cool to be able to actually TRAVERSE through the world to various alliances without having to use shrine, I really think this needs to be a goal for the zones going forward (except where you HAVE to take a boat, obviously) its called one tamriel, make it so!

this version can have dungeon access, the overland mobs, resources, town quests, etc.

If this game was more of a sandbox I would agree but it's not so I don't, and ZOS likely would never do this.

Cyro is good as it is.
My pc is not end game. i7, gforce 7xx, 16gb ram and like 2 MB/s conection and i run Cyro more than smooth on max settings. With grass and even high quality shadows . Fps is 30-50 which is more than fine for me. So yeap, upgrade your rig. Removing pve elements wont improve Cyro performance anyway. The fps lag we have, comes mostly from ZoS antihack system, and from their lapdog Alkamai.

oh im sorry I didn't know you went to cyro to farm wolves in 4k graphics, cool.

also, server lag =/= your computer specs.

I dont farm mobs in cyro/ outside delve bosses achievment. Neither i run on 4k.
Your pc is one of the factors to run Cyro smooth. Rest is ZoS side.
Guess you ddidnt play on release ? I did.
Watch youtube videos from that time and you will see that zergs was huge than now. Yet game still run smooth (on the older pcs we have) Lag come 1 year later. When zos fight hackers and made so much changes how aoe work in pvp. And again. pve elements like mobs, nodes and few pvpe players doing achievments/ quests have nothing to do with performance. I dont see your point why you want to remove them? I see posts that even BG are "laggy" Do you want ZoS to disable pet summoning in them to easy the load ? Like cmoon.

game has around 1k quests. Does any PvEr realy want more?

Questing in PvP zone has it's own advantages like immersive and A REAL DANGER, not that pff-meh 32k hp mobs.

There is a PvE version of Cyrodiil.

It's called "Shor at 6 AM".

    See you there :)

Shor at 3am PST really is PvE mode, EVERYONE is off to bed save for those few groups of nightowls and Aussies.

No thank you. Cyrodiil is a PvP zone and all of the rewards it contains require the risks of PvP to obtain. Cyrodiil is a wartorn zone so any other version of it would not be lore friendly and has no place in ESO; trying to spin it as for "performance" reasons isn't going to change this.

There's quite a bit of different content in this game. People need to have fun with the content they enjoy and stop trying to force the rest of it to conform to their narrow perspectives.

I'll never understand why people go to Cyrodiil to farm nodes......

The node density is less than half the density of any of the pve maps. It's simply not efficient for farming mats.

On a normal day the number of players entering Cyrodiil for only PvE aspects is pretty small so the entire premise of the OP is fairly baseless.

Edit: for those that might think about replying and talking about the events, I suggest reading that first sentence again. PvP events are about once per quarter and induced by Zos so that is not relevant.

Imagine, a sprawling dungeon that is also a competitive area, where players have to compete against each other and environmental dangers and mobs to complete quest objectives; maybe throw in some special currency... hang on...

What I don't understand is why PvP Players want PvE Players in the same instance? Padding stats?

PvP folks are so deadset against giving PvE their own instance. Usually the argument is given, it will reduce the population for PvP?

How? PvE dont go there to fight others. If I am in Cyrodiil, no PvP player sees me (I know how to avoid other players) so how does my presence benefit them?

It does not bother me. I was just pointing out the premise, that PvE players take from the pop cap, is not a very strong reason.

I have no issue with a PvE instance as long as they cannot gain or level AvA skill lines and cannot obtain the 60+ SPs including the 45 shards that Zos clearly locked behind Cyrodiil and PvP.

So if they want to get their Tamriel hero title, clear all the delves and domens, and unlock all mundus and locations on their map in a "safe" environment I could care less.
    Really, idk

No, the argument is that most PvE players want to get everything in Cyrodiil (achievements, skyshards, skill lines, etc) without actually playing PvP, whereas PvP players would still need to do PvE (from item sets to sky shards to Undaunted 9 to Guild skill lines etc).

I doubt actual PvP players would oppose a Cyrodiil for PvE players that doesn’t give any goodies.

They should just make the Cyro (not imp city) shards, lore books, achievements etc account wide. Not achieves related to rank.

That way, you'll only get a PVE'er walk in once in their accounts lifetime, unless they genuinely want to PVP.

    1. Killing delve bosses grants an AP buff. Those are PVP objectives.

    2. Three towns have flags and transit points, the other two are close to scroll run routes. Their quests ALL have to do with living in a war torn environment and are super simple because the threat comes from PVP. Those are PVP objectives.

    3. Skyshards are located behind enemy gates, in PVP towns, in delves, and in lots of places that are all PVP objectives.

Without PVP, Cyrodiil is an empty, boring landscape with practically no content.

Finally, if it were not for Master Angler - that most PVE of PVE achievements - I would never have set foot in a PVP zone. But I wanted those fish, so I went into Cyrodiil. Eventually I came back to try out PVP for itself and became a PVPer.

I'm not in favor of a PVE Cyrodiil - unless it offers NONE of the rewards and achievements you get from a PVP Cyrodiil that are intended to be gained with the risk of PVP. Which, since the entire zone is a PVP zone, is ALL of the rewards and achievements.

I think the PVE aspects add more interest to the PVP side of things but at the same time, no PVP server should be crowded with PVEers just out to quest and not actually participate in PVP because that has ruined campaigns. I defiantly think there should be a farming server so PVPers aren't backed up in queues.

From the PVP perspective, this makes a lot of sense. Reduced processing. Less PVE bodies filling up the population arrays. Knowing everyone is there to fight. Having a PVE version with towns you need to protect from daedra, world bosses, nodes to farm, those weird Fighter's Guild bounties, and no PVP rewards or Golden Vendor would be a nice change.

P.S. I am still in favor of ending the Three Banners War and making a new PVP zone somewhere else eventually.

My objection is that the PvE in Cyrodiil is designed to include the danger of PvP. Without it, it is a very empty zone where you have to ride further to complete quests than in any other zone in the game. The risk of PvP is part of the package, the same way as the risk of one-shots is part of running vet dungeons/trials.

I like it that way. I know others don't, but they don't actually have to go to Cyrodiil if they don't want to.
