• PC/Mac: No maintenance – July 14
The maintenance is complete, and the PTS is now back online and patch 11.1.1 is available.

Is teleporting strike the only gapcloser that hasn't received a speed buff?

Title says it. I was testing my magblade on PTS today and was interested to see how the gapcloser speed changes plays out. What I found is no (or insignificant) change to speed and animation, and I had a lot of trouble landing it in the duels that I played. Most of the time, people stunned or interrupted me mid-animation or it didn't connect for whatever reason.

Not sure if these gapclosers are treated differently since they are "teleporting" the user, but given the changes to supersonic crit- and toppling charges I feel NB gapclosers could be sped out accordingly too

When the news broke about this skill getting buffed I went and tried out a melee build with it... all the same issues you mentioned. Very apparent issues with it landing and costly as well.

there has been no change on teleporting strike speed, or animation nor dmg or whatever, i've tested it already. you can still teleport while immobilised which is already the case on live servers tho.

since it already deal dmg, grant empower or dot (depending on the morph) and applies minor vulnerability, it doesnt necessarly need some speedbuff.

    BUT

considering it is the clunkiest gap closer actually in game, at a point that it isnt used at all by most players (especially those who tried other gapcloser like crit charge or shield charge), it could be looked over. only for the clunky line of sight.

ps: it's not often a cool thing to teleport into a keep when chasing someone. he might have so reinforcment inside..

Erm. Ambush is the only gap closer that actually works on live (maybe empowering chains too, not sure) . No need for any changes to it.

Given the increase in dot strength for lotus fan I thought I’d try it in a pve rotation. Maybe a moment of madness, but the animation is long enough to completely disrupt a rotation. Presumably it would be equally clunky if used regularly to reapply vulnerability.

I thought to try Lotus Fan on a tank build. Maybe relieve a healer of wearing IA. But because it repositions you even if you use it in melee range, it was causing me to move the boss. Is there a reason for the teleport when you're in melee?

Anyway, imagine a stamblade wearing slimecraw + sload's and using ambush. Sload procs and it hits 16% harder. And if that stamblade combines it with a bleed, that bleed will hit a 16% harder, just because of minor vul and minor berserk.

And I haven't said anything about oblivion glyphs and torug's

Actually oblivion damage is neither increased by berserk nor by vulnerability buffs/debuffs.

I'm not here to discuss if ambush is stronger/worse compared to other gapclosers, but that its less reliable and breaks your rotation/ animations because its awefully long compared to all others

    @Jeezye

again, there is absolutly no change on teleport strike (and morphs) considering animation issues. it will be exactly like it is on live right now. only the effects (buffs/dots/snare) are changed.

the animation time has never been related to the distance you are from your target with teleport strike (like it is for other gapclosers).

yes, it does show on the TT and on build editor but the damage is aways a fixed amount and cant be increased by any ways.

Ambush is a teleport. It doesn't have anywhere near the same restrictions as an actual gap closers.
