Do i have to preorder Elswyer to partake in PTS

So i have just tried going to pts to have a little look, accepted the nda was asked to enter a code, skipped that, got to character create, and necromancer is greyed out saying i need Elswyer chapter.?

Im in EU if that makes a difference?

If i have to buy it before i can look at it on PTS you can literally go and suck eggs.

Regarding that part of the inputting a code that you skipped...

"...If you’ve tested the game previously, either for the Morrowind or Summerset Chapter, you can get into this new test from the ESO launcher with no invite required. Just enable “Show Public Test Environment" from your launcher settings. If you haven’t tested a Chapter for us before, but have played ESO this last year, you’ll receive (or have already received!) an email invite with the details. Because this is such a large test, invites will be sent out over the next few days, so don’t worry if you don’t immediately get yours...
....Please note that anybody can install and get into the Public Test Environment and check out the Update 22 base game content, but if they were not invited to this new test or were not a previous tester, they won’t have access to the Elsweyr Chapter."

I wasn't able to test Necro until I bought the game and entered the code. If there was some free workaround I'm not aware of it. The class is insanely fun, however. It's my first stam build where I wish I had one more bar just to add more of my class skills.

OK Cheers, i guess i need to wait for invite email. I have played the game on PC since Nov 2018 so im hoping i qualify by what they set out, was formerly day 1 on PS4.

I was invited to the Morrowind PTS cycle and have had access to each and every PTS cycle ever since.
This time, I had access to PTS but wasn't allowed to create a necromancer since I had not pre-purchased Elsweyr.
Note that I'm in EU so there was no character copy.
Had I created a non-necromancer template character, would have I been allowed to enter Elsweyr ? Don't know, didn't try.
If I had entered the content with another class, would this have unlocked the Elsweyr chapter ? Don't know, didn't try.
I went ahead and pre-purchased Elsweyr (that's one month earlier than I intended to) and then was allowed to create a necromancer character on PTS.

So for me, unless you're informed about some workaround, I'd say yes, PTS testing of Elsweyr content and necromancer class is tied to pre-purchasing the chapter.
