Buy feathers from the Impresario outside your starter cities.

Buy event tickets from the Crown Store.

You need to buy tickets from the crown store (or collect them by using the 2019 celebration cake once per day) and then use them to buy feathers.

Don't tickets cost 250 crowns each. Don't support something like that. When it takes 40 to get a mount, that price is advertising it sees you as a schmuck.

I don't think they meant people were supposed to buy 40 tickets... Just if you were short a ticket or two and it was the end of an event, you could purchase the extras to get your mount or last berry to evolve it. It's there for convenience so people don't stress out when they realize they won't quite have enough.

I'm sure they wouldn't mind if people actually DID spend a new car's worth of real money on them, however. But now I wonder if you purchase more than 12, do they just start disappearing? Hmmm...

No - when you reach 12, the crown store prevents you buying any more until you drop below the cap again. I remember testing this out on the PTS and once I hit 12, it wouldn't let me buy more.

As said above, this is more about giving people a catch-up option if they miss a ticket or two, rather than buying lots of them. If they meant for tickets to be bought in bulk, they'd have likely added a bundle discount.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

Its kinda pointless to buy Event Tickets now though, considering that the Jubilee Cake 2019 gives you free tickets every day, along with a 100% exp buff. Which are great anniversaries award but still, kinda makes buying them pointless if you have that cake.

It's not a bad thing though, rewarding active players is great after all.
