Just saw the reason for the downtime

Hi everyone,

We just completed a hotfix on all platforms and megaservers involving a potential exploit associated with the Jubilee Cake 2019. You are now required to eat your own cake to reap its benefits, rather than using your friends' cakes. Note that you will still see a prompt that you can "use" a friend's cake, even though it can't actually be used. No download is required for this change.

Why is that an problem? last event I provided cake for some in an dungeon and eaten others.

I suspect the problem came from tying Event Tickets to cake eating.

But then, why was this only a problem on PC/EU? Shouldn't it be the same on every platform and server?

The hot fix was on all servers. I've seen nothing to say the maintenance on PC EU was related to the exploit. It may have been a reboot to settle the server down. It was starting to get a bit flaky with longer loading screens on log ins, and DC's on log outs.

I suspect the problem came from tying Event Tickets to cake eating.

I would have been bummed if I started the day with 12/12 on event tickets and was heading over to buy a Berry and accidently clicked on another players cake.

I was wondering why I couldn't eat other peoples 2019 cake, but I can still eat their 2018 cake. Now I know!

This is a direct result of them failing to put an alert on and / or not allowing you to use any tickets over the cap. Just like the transmute crystals, you can keep earning them and they will disappear into thin air without warning. Seems like such a simple thing to fix.

I am disappointed to have missed the chance to eat other player's cakes.

I had so much fun during Witches Festival, dipping into other player's cauldrons, and bonding when we all turned into skeletons together...

    Good times.

I wonder what happen if you buy an event ticket from the Crown store and are already 12/12 on event tickets?

Um I get a warning that I can’t break down any more transmute geodes when I have 200 crystals in my inventory.

What happens when you receive crystals in the Anniversary boxes when you already have 200 in inventory?

Yes, but this warning is not in place when those individual transmute crystals (between 1 and 5 as far as I can tell) appear in the Anniversary boxes and you take them out. I lost 3 that way because while I knew I already had 200 in my inventory I accidentally took everything from the box instead just taking out the other materials individually.

Nothing; I've lost a couple that way already.

This works well and I just saw today that the Lazy Crafting addon updated and now automatically opens gift boxes, takes all inside except the transmute stones and leaves the box unopened in your inventory.

The change was to stop people from griefing others by placing cakes as obstacles making to harder for other players to talk to NPCs, complete quests, jump off edges, etc.
