Like others has suggested, get into a guild and find some nice people to do dungeons with.

Join a social guild. Most social guilds are full of people willing to help go through the dungeons for the first time. There are also a lot of dungeon mechanics videos on youtube where you can learn about a particular dungeon before even setting foot in it.
^^^^^^^^^^ You have no idea how joining a guild can really help you learn and grow.

^^^^^ And if you're performing well in Vet groups, you may find yourself getting invites to guilds who also run trials and dungeons. I was in PUG Vet Mazzutan, mentioned to the healer I was mainly new to the mechanics of the dungeon, she said send me a friend request I'll help you out, then she sent me a guild invite. We completed the dungeon successfully, and she coached me a little bit.

That next weekend, I got invited to a guild trial normal coffer run and unlocked a bunch of achievements/dyes/ got some very good drops.

If you're willing to try, ask questions, you may find yourself in the situation I was in. :) Learned a lot and am slowly working towards getting more trial gear for my toons.

Also run Vet Maelstrom arena if you've not already. Those weaps help push dps numbers. If you need advice for Mael, ask.

    My advice for Vet Dungeons

    1) CP160+

It is not just for the groups benefit that all are above CP160, the only value in doing Vet is purple rings / amulets and Monster Helms. The XP for random normal / veteran is the same. Getting a monster set under CP160 will probably be out leveled by the time you get the shoulders. Pointless. Better off farming XP via normal. Personally I think ZOS should lock vet to CP160+, maybe even CP200+ unless the group is created manually.

    2) Do the quest on normal, not vet.

Do all your questing on normal, if you enter into a vet dungeon without the quest being done, do not expect anybody to wait for you. People doing vets are either really bad, or really good. If you have a group that is all good, they are probably just doing the dungeon for a quick farm for a set or a quick pledge, they are there to power through it. They have probably already run that dungeon 100+ time before and taking the scenic route is not what they signed up for.

    3) Set your role properly

Some, not all, normals can generally be forgivable for somebody completely unknowledgable about the role system. Vet is not forgiving.

    4) Guilds

If you are unfamiliar, you can quite easily familarise yourself in a more forgiving environment by running normal first, but finding a guild that does dungeons will speed up the process.

    - How important is the gear? What do you recommend for stam blade with dual daggers and bow?

You will get endless ideas about what is or is not best. Briarheart is a great set, particularly if you are new to vet dungeons as it helps keep you alive. I use it on one of my stam dds. Hundings rage is craftable so easy to get, very good all round set. Other sets to consider, depending on your build, Spriggans, Relequen, Vipers sting, Sheer venom.

There are a lot of good options, these are just a few I use across my stam dds.

As for pots and food, these are fairly easy to identify what aids you, you will want to buff your damage and max stamina - if you can also use consumables that buff health and recoveries. There are plenty of usable options.

    :)

What about traits? I'm practically swimming in transmutation geodes and have most of the traits on gear unlocked. Anything you can recommend?

    DIVINES on everything
    IMPEN for everything PvP
Zhoyzu - Nightblade Alchemist (v15) RETIRED
    Has-No-Heart - Templar Enchanter (v4) FUBAR
Ambadassador - Dragon knight (v1) Naked with no future (returned from the naked realm to tank PvE)
Sakis Tolis - Sorceror (v10 in progress) Living Legend!

Xuhl'Xotuun - Warden Current Main as im starting the game over essentially with this character aside from crafting.

Just join a vet and see how it goes, don't give a **** about what they think about your performance no matter how good/bad it is.

I would say that the Vet dungeons are really not much harder than the normal. Just monsters hit a little harder and take longer to kill. If you have the mechanics of the fight down in normal you will do fine.

If you want to run through a couple and get the hang of them.. look me up in game. :)

I am easy going and just have fun with the dungeons... letting everyone do their quest in the dungeon at their pace.

Thank you for all the replies. One more question, I have about 10 undaunted keys, what should I get for them for stamblade pve?

Alcast recommends velidreth (cradle of shadows) or stormfist (tempest island), veli will be though to get since you just started vet dungeons but stormfist is not that hard to get, so it would be glirions chest for the shoulders of stormfist. For a beginner setup kragh could be also an option till you are more familiar with vet content and is very easy to get, just run fungal grotto 1. This one is at Maj Al-Ragaths chest.

I would start with Redbeards chest, as both Stormfist and Selenes drop from it. Both are perfectly viable on a stam build.

Velidreth is generally the meta set (drops in the middle DLC chest), but it might be a while until you can get your hands on the helm. Cradle of Shadows is one of the tougher Vet Dungeons.

You could also go with Kra'gh from Maj's chest. Fungal 1 is one of the easiest vet dungeons (if not the easiest) so the helm is simple to get. There just isnt much left in that loot pool that you will use on a stam DPS. It does have some other useful sets however if you PVP, like blood spawn or even engine guardian. Truthfully, for a new player in vet content, bloodspawn is not the worst idea. It will make you tankier, help with recovery and your ultimate gain. Bloodspawn is probably the most popular stam set in PVP, but it's harder to call things meta in PVP.

Just dont be too pissed when you dump 10 keys and dont get what you want.

This is a useful chart. It's a bit dated because it doesnt have all the latest DLC dungeons, but as they all drop from the center chest, it will get the job done.

Also, these sets tend to go in and out of fashion to some degree as metas shift. I would not decon any shoulder or helm you get until you have one in each weight. One of the most frustrating things about the monster set grind is finding the right weight (light, medium, heavy). As a general rule for stam, you want medium, but anything will work as a placeholder. Just make sure you have at least 5 pieces of medium armor at all times. This can definitely cause an inventory crunch, so you might want to roll an alt or three. Haha
