Rivenspire butterfly mass extinction

Some time in the recent past, six months or so, the masses of butterflies around Northpoint seemed to have been reduced.

Anyone have any knowledge of this extremely distressing change?

It also happened in the Netherlands.

    Mass butterfly extinction

What happenes in the real world might affect ESO. When they had a mass extinction of deer in de Oostvaardersplassen in the winter of 2004-2005, was also when they disappeared from Cyrodill.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

We should name it the butterfly effect then.

Oh no! Wrothgar is a DLC zone that mean butterfly are migrating to a pay zone. Classic P2W butterfly move. Damn you, ZOS. :p

I noticed that the last couple times I went to Rivenspire to do some Butterfly farming. Thought maybe someone else was in the zone doing the same because I didn't hardly see any.

Butterfly’s are known to cause huge amounts of lag. They had to remove them so that people could still quest in that region. Was getting really out of hand. True story

Nightblades were nerfed so much that now they can only instakill butterflies from stealth. So they do it en masse to bolster their ego and remember the good old days.

I often see groups of NIghblades stalking butterflies invisible. They kill them with incapacitating strike from stealth. Often that is not enough so they pluck out their wings to finish the job.

This is soooo sad - I left for 8 months and came back to find that there is 1 butterfly left for every 100 butterfly's that used to exist.....

Frogs ain’t never going to Wrothgar. Waaaaaay to cold for their amphibian lifestyle. Plus they’ve all been shanghaied by Argonian musicians.

No idea about this P2W butterflies though. That’s a proper mystery.
