    Portals require Magicka. A Mage doesnt have infinite Magicka.

    I don't think it would be 'indefinite' ever but if the portal was generated by enchantments and you feed it more soul gems to charge it when it starts to run out of juice maybe. Either that or if multiple mages were holding up a portal and they did it in shifts (idk why they would do this tho) but yeah I dont think one is gonna hold up indefinitely by itself.

    On my main account, I just jumped in. On my other account, I stood there to see if Tharn really would open a portal.

    My portals are legendary.
    I just opened a portal i probably could hold on forever. Hard brown substances spawned from it. Then i closed the portal and cleaned it with paper tissues.
