Crafting writs bugged!

Previously you may get your writs today and make them tomorrow, and immediately receive and complete "tomorrow" writs. This is more time effective then to make writs each day. I wasn't playing ESO for several days so today i logged on and I can't get "today" writs after I completed "yesterday" writs, all with exception of alchemy ones, which can still be made 2 in one day.
Is is only me or other see this as well? And this may be related to other dailies as well.

There are a certain number of writs in the rotation. If the ones you would pick up are the same as the ones you just completed, it won't let you pick up a second copy that day. If you do it back to back, this will never be an issue. If you wait a few days, you could run into it as the rotation starts over again.

Yep, I agree that works that way for example on world boss writs.
But for crafter writs I'm doing them on 8 toons for several months that way and they were never "repeated" before. As for today they all "repeated" on all 8 toons with exception of alchemy. Though you are right may be due to RNG I got old writs which are repeating with today's writs.. and with alchemy there is more type of writs, so they probably didn't repeated.
Still strange that i never experienced that before.

The writs aren't given to you on an RNG basis, they move in a fixed rotation.

Caveat: At least they always have previously. Xbox NA.

If that is so, it would have to be per character because my characters don't get the same writs as one another each day (and it has always been that way).

Yeah. It's variable. Some days, some girls get the same writs, but others get not the same. Other days no one gets the same ones.

I've never had a day when all 24 got the same writs. Yet. RNG being what it is (or isn't), not an impossible scenario after all.

My own experience is that certain crafting skill lines give the same writs each day, for all characters and servers, except that the materials differ based on each character's level in that crafting skill-- but Alchemy and Provisioning are different. And the writs do follow a rotation of some kind, although it isn't a repeating sequence-- that is, the same writs keep coming up again and again, but not in a fixed and unvarying order.

For example, if my master crafter on PC NA gets a Blacksmithing writ for Rubedite Sword, Cuirass, and Greaves, then my two low-level characters on the same server will get Blacksmithing writs for Iron Sword, Cuirass, and Greaves, while my mid-level character on PC EU will get Galatite Sword, Cuirass, and Greaves.

It's the same for Clothing, Woodworking, Jewelry, and Enchanting-- the writs call for the same items on any given day, but the level of the item varies according to the character's skill level.

On the other hand, the Provisioning and Alchemy writs are different, although I think they might be the same for characters at the same level as each other.

I actually stopped doing writs on my two low-level PC NA characters some while back, so I can't say for sure that it's still the same way now unless I resume doing writs on those characters, but it was definitely that way a few months back when I was doing writs on them. And it's definitely still true today for my PC NA master crafter and PC EU mid-level crafter.

I also got bit by the same situation as described by the OP, where I accepted all 7 writs before the roll-over time of 1 AM EST but didn't do them due to time crunch. The next few days I skipped doing writs and riding lessons on those characters while I focused on doing event stuff on my main character. When I decided to resume doing writs on those two characters, I did all of the writs I'd previously accepted and turned them in, but was peeved to discover that only Alchemy gave me a new writ for that day! The explanation that the others must have been the same as what I would have received for that day, and thus they counted as being for that day even though I'd accepted them a few days earlier, makes sense to me, even if I still don't really like it. :) Then again, I guess it was my own fault for skipping a few days.

Most crafting writs (other than alchemy) are on a 3 day rotation per character. Alchemy is on a 4 day rotation for lower levels in the material passive, 8 day at the top level. Across an account, where you are in the cycle can certainly be different from character to character, but there are generally only 3 options (if you don't factor in the material passive level for each craft) as follows:
Blacksmithing: Greatsword, Sabatons, Gauntlets; Sword, Cuirass, Greaves; Dagger, Helm, Pauldron.
Clothing: Shoes, Hat, Sash; Robe, Breeches, Epaulets; Bracers, Helmet, Arm Cops.
Enchanting: Health glyph; Magicka glyph; Stamina glyph.
    Jewelry: Necklaces; Rings; Necklace+Ring.
Woodworking: Destruction Staves; Restoration Staves, Shield; Bows, Shield.

Provisioning follows a 3 day rotation that is fixed in terms of the type of food (meat/fruit/vegetable) but the type of drink (alchoholic/tea/tonic) varies across the levels. Level 1-3 recipe improvement writs are dependent on the character's alliance.
If you go exactly a multiple of 3 days between pickup and dropoff, you won't get new writs (except for alchemy since that cycle is of a different length).
Yes, I do too many writs.

So I guess when I started doing writs on my two low-level NA characters, as well as on my main EU character, it was random chance that I did so on a day when the 3-day writ rotations were the same as it was on my main NA character? Probably not so hard to do, given that it's a 33% chance.

    Thanks for the explanation! :)
