What on earth did ZOS do to cc break? Console Wrathstone patch

Hey ZOS,

Thanks for fixing the draining shot bug. But guess what? That annoying cc delay has now some how been implemented in any hard cc that knocks you down, not allowing you to breakfree.

Guildies have also reported the same issue and I remember hearing it in @Thogard stream that he was also experiencing a cc-delayed bug similar to the old draining shot, but applying on EVERY skill.

Anyone else reporting similar issues? Is this being looked into or what?

    Came back to try out the patch. first fight i had to sit through 6 full cc durations in a 1v5. Ill try again next patch maybe..

    Not a bug, a feature. ESO devs seem to believe more CC makes the game more fun 🤬

    It's definitely an issue. I noticed it with fear a few times. Can't say I did with anything else though

    Yep, us on PC have been trying to get it noticed, as the ones who play with gamepad have the exact same issue. Sadly we were not heard.

    Yeah I figured it wasn't just exclusive to console.

    Regardless this bug makes solo play borderline unplayable. If you are in a 1v5 and get ccd it's a death sentence now. Oh well maybe ZoS intentionally did this to kill anything that was left of solo play.

    Fear has always been difficult to break, full stam bars and nothing, should be removed. :#
    I have noticed break free is definitely not working on a lot more CCs since this update though.

    30 minutes of PvP and have had the break-free delay occur at least 5 times.

    Not just limited to console or gamepads. I play m&k on PC EU and same issues. Worst of all is fossilize where you cant break the stun and then if your still alive cant even dodgeroll out of immobilize. On many ocasions after trying to roll the stamina gets consumed my char moves a bit but stays immobilized. The fears, the knockdowns, char keeps in place waiting for CC to expire with full stamina. And is not a latency issue since the combat until the point of CC seems fluid.
    This was happening since as long as I play, but its gotten much much worse lately.

    Yes cc's have always been buggy I agree. But there was a difference between cc's sometimes not going off and cc's being plain broken like the draining shot CC and the old rune cage CC.

    Now, every single CC basically acts in the manner of rune cage/draining shot where you will press breakfree but the game won't register it.

    Disabling or hindering a player is something nearly all game designers use sparingly, because stopping a player from doing anything means they are not playing. Sitting there not-playing is not-fun.

    Not just on console. Happening on PC also.

    There are also some new ground-effect bugs that are perma-rooting people in place.
    Gotta love all the new 'Features' every update brings......

    Oh and the invisible keep walls are kinda back too!! Saw a few of those yesterday \o/

    I've had all sorts of bugs since Wrathstone release.

    -unable to break free
    -Disappearing attacks
    -unable to CC targets that are clearly not CC immune
    -I killed a templar then dropped dead to their beam execute a few seconds later, not POL but the channeled beam that was non-existant because the player required to channel it was already dead
    -resource recoveries intermittently dropping to 0 for no apparent reason
    -damage seeming to spike randomly or drop out randomly
    -weapon damage enchant overwriting weapon damage set proc

    Overall a laggy experience, also siege is more of a joke than ever before.

    I must be lucky. I have not had one issue breaking any CC. The only time I cant is when I am out of stam.

    Heh... try using psijic ulti. It doesn't work at all.
    My sweeps ulti will require multiple attempts to fire it off as well.

    I think they should increase base CC immunity to 10 seconds. There's zero chance to breathe with 6 seconds. You go into defensive phase and by the time ur ready to go back offensive you get CCed again. It's not fun, especially when CC abilities deals so much friggin damage, they are incentivised to spam.

    PS4 NA On Vivec last night it was pretty bad. I mean getting feared, full stam, press break free get no result with only a dozen or so people around, not like a massive fight that lags everything. Others in my group were getting it as well - the complaints were just way more frequent than normal.

    Undo was failing to move me back to my original position, and also failing to return the resources. It would still use the ultimate up like it went off.

    I can accept being a turtle on its back unable to get up if I don't have the stamina. Otherwise, its just very aggravating knowing you did the right thing to stay alive by saving the resources to use and the game failed you.

    I actually agree with this 100%. In open world, 6 sec immunity after break free is not enough time. CC's and Roots have become the number 1 must have skill for open world group play - I.E. Ball Groups, Small Group, Largescale Defensive, etc. because more roots/CC's means faster kills.

    Also, I have been experiencing the CC Break glitching as well. Sidenote *I have also noticed more of a "delay" on using the action button in menus, such as in Trader I have to press A or X multiple times to actually register a selection....
    All menus seem delayed.
