tried researcher addon, it's of no use to me

i just want to open my bank and see at a glance, for example, all my 1h axes together, regardless of set and have them sorted by the item trait so that i can tell how many one hand axes i have with a sharpened trait, etc.

im trying to keep the duplicates out of my bank to conserve space. as it is now i have to wait until i research a trait to see how many duplicates i have and only after researching them can i deconstruct them - selling them off isnt an option bacause id never find them in the bank again...

CraftStore add-on will not do sorting like that but it will show you which traits have and have not been researched:

Also, a little magnifying glass will appear next to items in your inventory (and maybe bank, too, sorry, I'm not near a bank at the moment to check) that you haven't researched to indicate they are researchable.

Advanced filters is nice. It further divides the default categories: Armor into heavy, medium and light categories and has a drop down menu so you can select head, chest, bows etc.

It’s published through esoui.com, so I would imagine it’s on minion. I downloaded it manually initially, and haven’t checked to see if minion has been updating it though.

In addition to the Item Trait plugin I also use the Bound Item plugin. It’s great for quickly seeing everything in my bank that can be sold or traded.

I'm a fan of TraitBuddy, works a treat, it will solve your problem in a different way and works in packs and banks and across multiple characters, so you can sell to your merchant in a dungeon and know you're not selling off something that another character needs to research. Brilliant really!

I use an excel sheet for weapons armor and jewels. It's sometimes annoying I need to update it when I put armors in the bank and take stuff out, but I love it when I need to know where a set is located.
I might create an app for this though.

I love TraitBuddy, it's best addon for research imo. It small so doesn't cover your whole screen, it's neat and has some stuff like list of motifs and list of all craftable sets with locations. I love it.

Auto-Category has been mentioned once before. It does take a bit of patience to figure it out. However, it can do what you want.

The following example rule would yield a category that contained all medium armor helmets with the well fitted trait:
    equiptype("head") and armortype("medium") and traittype("armor_well_fitted")
And this example would yield a category that contained all lightning staffs with the defending trait:
    weapontype("lightning_staff") and traittype("weapon_defending")
See this rule page for the other values which can be used to create categories for any other combination of armors, weapons and traits.

An item can only be in one category even if it were to be valid for multiple other categories. To that end there is a priority value which can be set on the rules to ensure that it catches what you wish. For your purpose, I'd recommend removing all other categories that come by default for the bank inventory and setting your rules at 100 priority.

You must perform a /reloadui for any new rules to take affect.

    Good luck in your sorting!

ill offer up 100$ to the person who makes me the addon i asked for

It's already made, install TraitBuddy, you can tell from the sell screen of any merchant what to get rid of and you can tell from the deconstruct screen what to decon.

With this add-on, I dont need to organise my bank and then go to sell and decon, because I can already tell from the sell and decon windows, it skips the whole "look at my inventory/backpack step.

    https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1058-TraitBuddy.html

Major props to Weolo the author of this.

...and perhaps if I didn't emphasise it enough, for me TraitBuddy is GodMode for cleaning out your excess gear while maximising my crafting.

...in fact with TraitBuddy, I can go longer, go harder, decon more, sell more and research more than any other AddOn! :open_mouth:

It doesn't sort, but Craft Store's trait tracking will, manually, cull down to ONE example of each trait/item. So, for example, if you have two well-fitted shoes, only one will be marked for research. (You do need to turn on tracking in the main UI, and by default it won't mark set items for research, but that can be toggled in their options menu.) It will ALSO track which items you have on its own UI, so you can see, at a glance, what you do have available for research. Again, if you're wanting to sort out, "do I have this trait or not?" Craft Store does have you covered.

    Nice necro.

However, since the question does not seem to be answered:

    How about Inventory Insight?

It basically allows you to google all your chars, chests, your main stash and all guild banks you added to it for gear.

Look for a specific term, and you get a hell of a list. Refine your search term and you get less results, like a list of only one item, like rattlecage inferno staff, but all traits and colors separated and to each result you get the quantities and the locations.
It just works, it just works, little lies, stunning shows,
people buy, money flows, it just works.
It just works, it just works, overpriced open worlds,
earnings rise, take my word: IT JUST WORKS!

I nerfed my wallet in Jan 2017. I altered my wallet status to closed in May 2019.

Keeping in mind that it's been a minute since I wrote this... I think you're talking about Craft Store's trait tracking.

You may need to turn that on by bringing up the UI page for Craft Store (this is bound to the ouroboros logo that the addon slaps on your screen, though you can keybind it and ditch the logo.) On that page you can activate tracking for your characters, and tweak what the system does. It's not a perfect system, but there are a lot of options you can configure.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, you can configure a, "researchable," tab through autocategories. Though, again, setting up Autocat isn't the most user friendly experience, even if the end results are very nice.

Yeah, if the end result wasn't completely worth it, I wouldn't recommend it. There's some major downsides, but it is such a good addon.
