Khajiit Stamblade PvE and racial passives - need advice

Hi all,

Need some advice.
I switched my Khajiit stamblade to Shadow mundas and changed the CP in the blue tree to reflect that change as was recommended to me

I found my dps to be lower (harder to hit 30K) and my penetration was down to 10Kish

I switched back to Lover and I was able to get above 30K again and my penetration was around 14K

If Shadow is supposed to be the better way to go, what should my CP be to have the best chance to maximize DPS?

BTW I am well over max CP so thats not the issue and everything else (armor, weaps, food and potions are the same).

Thanks

Lover will give the most DPS unless you penetrate ~16500 out the 18200. On dummies, that is hard to do but with a group, self penetration is not as important, how did you test? Did you swap your weapons out for nirn main/sharp off?

Shadow is the way to go if you have over 50% crit chance...its all how you build your toon. Just slapping on a different stone because its the flavor of the month is silly. It still needs to be tested quite a bit.
You can have 100% crit damage but if you don't crit it means f all.

@Katahdin , the whole idea of rearranging CPs into Piercing is to reach same penetration you had with Lover before switching to Shadow. So the idea is to put as many points as needed to reach same penetration you had before you dropped Lover, and to that end, you'll also want to run either sharpened off hand (with nirnhoned main), or double sharpened (then you'll have to invest fewer points into Piercing to get to the penetration level you used to have before).

Granted, it all depends on content you run. Penetration is still the best way to get more damage as long as you're not hitting the cap, so right now, if you'll switch to sharpened off hand and put 60 points into Piercing (one of the two recommended setups now - the other being double sharpened and ~35 points), and then also keep Lover, then on self-buffed parse you'll get better results than with Shadow just because Lover -is- stronger on solo parse where you're still way away from the cap. But then if you'll do that in-raid, you'll likely have Alkosh, infused Crusher with Torug's and Minor Fracture, and all the extra you get from Lover will be wasted away.

Use Nirnhoned+Precise and move Crit CP to Penetration CP to make up the difference. From what I tried, this is the way to go for Khajiit.

The extra crit chance of Precise affects both Khajiit crit dmg+heals and Shadow crit dmg. You have very high crit damage so you can easily drop a lot of crit dmg CP and get more penetration than you lost from swapping to Precise, while still having higher crit damage.

By the way, how many points did you have to move to Piercing? I was thinking about running Precise off hand, but still undecided if it's better, considering that I already have 60 in Piercing with sharpened off hand, and Piercing seems to be quite saturated already.

    Thanks guys
I understand the principle with changing the CP around with the Mundas change, but I don't understand it well enough to know how many points should be moved where or how much penetration I should be aiming for. I guess it might also depend on the rest of the build.

Some one else told me that the lover will provide a better parse on a dummy and shadow better in a group environment if the appropriate buffs are there.

That explains why my dps is higher on the dummy with lover.

Another issue is my crit is over 60 on the dw bar but below 50 on the bow, but I still do need to change the bow trait too (ran out of trans stones).
