How would you work a 24 player ultimate trial?

Alright, how would you guys a symbol a team of 24 players in this ultimate trial on normal mode and hard mode? This colossal behemoth monstrous trial should it be put in the game? Also, this is too much territory that's on a high level of results on a good and bad side of things. The reason Why I would not do a poll discussion is there's a normal mode point of view and a hard mode point of view to it.

I would not. We only have 12 man trials and it is extremely doubtful Zos will add a 24 man trial. There is no need for it.

Would be fun, but different size trials are not a good idea. Guilds always have issues because they don’t know how many people they want for raiding.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:

the hp numbers would have to be severely inflated. 2 healers is all you need to heal any group of people; 2 olorimes still would get all 24 people unless i'm mistaken. Also, tanks depend on the trial and not a stable concept across all trials. As such, the extra 12 people would likely be dps, making average raid dps go from ~300k to 700k+.

OK, then you got one major boss two medium bosses all-in-one Room and 1 of the medium bosses can summon an image of himself that needs to be taught so how many tanks do you need in that 1 Room and Healers and DPS?

Recruit 16, then rotate players. You’ll always be short if you try to only have 12.

Without rotations usually guilds fall apart when key members leave too.

I watched one of those Celestial take downs from WOW. It was kind of boring as it just looked like people spamming rotations for 15 minutes.

Ignoring the logistics of herding 24 Cats, I mean Players into an event, there needs to be mechanics that require each and every person to be on their game and doing what they need to do. This can be positioning, synergies, splitting the party for some or all of the fights. Otherwise, it would be just mash the keys to get the numbers.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Group of 24 vs faction stack with the goal of dethroning an evil emperor. Oh wait that's already in the game, but we'll soon be able to zerg down a daedric artifact wielder. Depending on how zos implements that the user of the artifact might be akin to a trial boss.

In relation to PvE I don't particularly like the idea of a 24 man trial.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

The 24-man content I played was organized raiding in PVP.

You can get 24+ people to show up for raid night on a regular basis. You can even get them to do training together and practice and mesh gear and skills together for some amazing teamwork, night after night.

In PVP, there are clear benefits to running larger organized groups, and its in a context where the difficulty comes from fighting lots of other players or from fighting for the campaign win, none of which requires the devs to introduce new mechanics to challenge these groups.

But even there, it takes a ton of commitment, both from the raid leads and from the team. We also had the benefit where while the basics of Cyrodiil were always the same, no fight and no campaign ever went the same way twice, which helped stave off boredom.

So could PVE players do a 24-man trial?
    Sure, I don't see why they couldn't.

I guess the real question is whether or not its something PVE players are interested in committing the tine and effort to doing. And whether the Devs are interested in tackling that design challenge.

Until trials get implemented into group finder, I’d guess it’d be a whole lot of hassle to get enough people into a large raid like that.

Though it’d be interesting to see some areas require group splits like Hel Ra, maybe into four groups of 6

Assuming it can run smoothly and no bugs, it would be potentially a lot of fun! There could be a lot of mechanics where the group needs to split individually. Like you will need tanks in totally different locations focusing on their own stuff, but you still must coordinate the dds and healers. You could have mechanics that are there to prevent chaos, so you will be punished for having too many people running around crazy. A cool one would be a rescue mechanic where one half must rescue the other 12 from some sort of wipe mechanic. So while you sometimes must go separate ways, you always have to come back together to continue. And of course all 24 must be absolutely necessary for the final boss! If it feels like you could have completed it with 12 or less, then the point of the trial failed. It must be challenging enough to warrant that many players.

1st of all a 24 man trial while awesome and great on paper would be an absolute lag and bug fest in ESO just wouldn't happen
2nd finding 11 other people to do a trial is hard enough especially on console but now we have to find 23 other people this 24 man trial would cater to 1% of the 1% pretty much.

I actually have many ideas on how a 24 man trial would work in ESO and have mechanics that would be pretty cool

Neverwinter's Temple of Tiamat was as 25 man PUG raid. You couldn't not group into TOT - it would put you in an instance with 24 other random players and gave you like 5 minutes of prep time to get the teams situated.

The trial could be essentially carried by 3 or 4 good players provided the rest of the raid had a good understanding of what was occurring.

It was a really unique and fun experience and made runs of TOT very enjoyable. There were times where you would literally win with 1 second left and times where you lost in the midst of animating the winning blow.

It also housed some of the best gear in the game, which worked out well because it rarely ever dropped an item - it instead dropped tokens which meant getting your coveted dragonforged items was based on your capability of winning. If you are a garbage player, you'd be in there multiple times a day, every day, for a month before getting it. A tremendous player would get it in 10-12 runs.

    24 man trials ? Sounds funny .

I think it will not be a problem at Normal difficulty . It's easy to carry by experienced players .

But It's another story at Vet , higher skills level and coordination are required , no casual run .
Such as VHRC Yokeda Kai , VSO - Ozara , VMOL - twins .

DEV will upgrade all mobs HP and damage to scale to 24 man , I predicted the failure rate will be increased if PUG , even guild trial lol .

Like @RebornV3x said , it's hard to find 24 raiders , especially in non peak hours .

From my point of view , it's good to try , lauch at PTS please lol .
