Hello everyone, I have been a player since 2016. Before that I played Skyrim, a game my mother actually understood why I played it. She liked that I played ESO because it meant I wasn't out doing drugs or whatever. Now why am I talking about my mom?
I lost my mother last night. She was 76 years old and she had a thoracic aortic aneurysm which came unexpectedly. The doctors tried everything but they couldn't save her. But she was under heavy medicine so she didn't feel any pain.
I'm only 23 years, much to young to lose my mom. But there's nothing I can do about that.
My mother was a "tough old bird" in her words, she had a wicked funny sense of humor and I think had it not been for her arthritis she probably would have played ESO with me.
ZoS, I ask you to help memorialize my mom. I play ESO to feel at peace and relax. So it would be nice if I could see my mom in game. I think she would love to see the world of ESO. She would love to see me lead trials and go questing and having fun. So please ZoS, even a minor background character in memory of her would be appreciated beyond belief. Please feel free to contact me and ask me more about her of you want to do this for her ZoS.
Regardless, I thank you for your time and support while reading this. Thank you.

Losing your parent, especially at a young age, is very hard. I lost my mother when I was 19.14 years later, I still miss her and break down on occasion. You have my deepest sympathy, I'm so sorry you're having to experience this loss.

Just a suggestion. Why not make a character with a likeness to your mom, give her an ESO style name with similar qualities and run her through the game for a while?

She could have all kinds of adventures and you would be right there with her.

Heartbreaking, so sorry are going through this.

I don't think ZOS would do this though, but there is nothing stopping you from adopting a place in ESO as a special place where you can remember your mother. Maybe a view that she would have liked.

I feel sorry for your loss. You lost your mom all the sudden, I lose a bit of mine each day.

When I started the game, december 2014, I was going through King Emeric's quests, the ones you have to enter his mind, and end his nightmares. Little had I know that soon I will be doing the same with my mother's memories, because early next year she suffered a stroke, and her behaviour changed, she had all kinds of visions and problems. The situation became normal in a few weeks, but after that her memories started going away from her, to some other better place for safekeeping, I hope, because I do not want to name the cursed disease you probably guess she manifests.

She also liked, and still likes fantasy stories or movies. She used to play Skyrim a bit too, but also other games.

You will always remember your mom like she was. But I fear that I will also remember my mom suffering and becoming something else, a empty shell for the wonderful person she is.

Best is to keep her memory alive, make a char that will resemble her for you, if this will make you happy, or make a shrine, a garden, something peaceful, in one of your Tamriel houses. If we are on the same server, you can contact me if you want to talk to someone.

    Best wishes!

This is the best suggestion, and something I do myself to remember loved ones. Your version of your mother will be more accurate than any NPC Zeni made, simply because you knew her better than they ever could. Besides, think of all those 'NPC's we hate' threads that pop up - how would you feel if that NPC then turned out to be annoying and universally hated upon?

It's very unlikely that ZOS would do this, simply because if they did it for one, then others would expect it done for them too. Best thing is to make a character in her image and enjoy exploring the world with her.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

I am so sorry for your loss. While my story is different from yours, I know how you feel. I lost my mom and two years later, I lost my dad. I have done as you when I lost my parents and came to the forums (back then it was the old Bethesda forums) and it help me.

Not my quote but I love this saying

"I would pay It for support. But since they choosed we are just numbers and not customers, i dont mind if game and zos goes to oblivion"

Sorry for your loss. I get what you mean, my dad played flight and racing games on the PC and Playstation. I would play PC and Xbox. My dad had a better understanding of why I played video games. He had a stroke and it resulted with him being paralyzed. My dad passed away about 3 years ago. For me I still find myself randomly crying but in time it gets better.

If anything if it gives you comfort you can always make a character of your mom.

Take care of yourself and stay strong.

I lost my father to cancer. I know exactly how it feels. It took me a year to get to the point where I wouldn't cry any more. I'm so sorry for your loss.
ZOS can't put a character in the game for everyone who loses a parent, though. There are a few million people who play this game.

I was feeling sympathy for this thread... Until I came to this part:
I ask you to help memorialize my mom.

Why is it that whenever someone's friend, loved one or pet passes away, they immediately go to their nearest favorite videogame, and start asking for memorials? It kinda strikes me as disrespectful to their memory, and really tacky in a sort of "Cashing in" way (I don't know if my grandparents would feel happy or anything, if I decided to go to WoW and started asking for memorials, for example). Why can't you somehow imbed her memory by yourself, without having to get a needless NPC in to a game? And I say this because it really is something of a floodgate conundrum, in where people can easily look at an NPC and say "Hey! You added someone's parent who didn't play the game with them, so why aren't you putting in my dog in to the game!?"

It's how I always say it when I see threads like these: My parrot passed away in August, and I miss him dearly. Please put him in the game, and anyone who denies this to me is a heartless cur.

This is a perfect suggestion. It's remembering your mother in your own way, without having to litter the world with more NPCs that are there simply for "Memorial Purposes"

I don't see this as heartless, more like you being a realist. It'd be heartless if you decided to say "Who cares if she's dead, shame on you for mourning".

This one feels for your loss :(

It is also perhaps possible to use of one the houses as a memorial garden or temple?

This one has a little room at Claws Temple Spa Resort for such things and in the future, when a suitable place is found, has plans for something larger and more elegant in the form of a memorial garden.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mother.

I would suggest a more long term memorial. Plant a tree in her name on your property or ask if you may donate a tree in her name to a local park.

I dont know if zos will an a memorial but you can.

Lost my grandfather in the summer of 2017

He was an eccentric old guy and practically raised me.

He once told me a story that is supposedly a local legend. War broke out and a farmer went to fight. Before he left he put his scythe into a tree ( were talking like revolutionary war, civil war time frame). the farmer never came home, tree grew around the scythe and it got embedded in the tree. Years late the farmers son is now a farmer, war breaks out again. The son puts his scythe in the same tree, never came home. Tree grew around the scythe.

So in one of my houses, theres a tree with a scythe in it.

The world is lively, more lively than any MMO I have ever played. Name me an MMO that has NPCs change dialogue on what you have accompished.

The towns feel alive even with very few players which never happens honestly (few players that is).

*gentle hug* I am so very sorry for your loss. I think "making" your mom is a great idea. Or perhaps if she had a favorite pet, it might work better to try to find a similar pet and rename it.
