Weapon damage continues to lower

So I repair all gear every time I get back to a town to drop off loot, deconstruct etc and I've noticed that the weapon damage on my bow and 2h continue to fall. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or what I need to do to repair them. My bow was originally around 1k base damage but it's fallen all the way to 870. Is there something else I need to be doing to maintain weapons and armor besides the periodic repairs? Do items just wear out, even the tough ones to find via mob drops??

Your gear is below CP 160 and you keep leveling up, furthering the gap between current level and gear level, thus lessening the effect.

Champion Point (CP) 160 is max level gear.

Interesting, thanks for the clarification. Game isn't very upfront about it.

Sounds like you aren't level 50 at 160cp yet. The game has a scaling system before max level with max gear. The higher you level up and the farther you get from the current level of the equipped gear, the weaker that gear becomes.

For me, when I'm power leveling, I try to change my gear every 10 - 8 levels. If you go to your character stat screen, there is a rating system of 5 stars (maybe 4, can't recall). Depending on the durability and relative level of your character VS your gear, you will have a lower or higher star rating.

To be optimal you want that star rating to be as high as possible, that being said, your leveling. Gear is only temporary and leveling is fast, don't focus too much on it. Just enjoy the game and equip newer gear as you come across or gear with the training trait to level faster.

At level 50, you start earning CP from 1 to 810. At 160 cp you can equip max leveled gear that won't get weaker the more cp you earn. At 300 cp, you will have a full (hidden) +20% to your max hp/sta/mag. Anything from cp 300 to 810 is strictly what you find on the constellation stat bonuses.

I would like to add that you don't actually get what it says on the constellation. It rounds the % down, so always try to spec into a single star untill you have x.01% bonus or more. Also, if you get a 18.00% (if I recall correctly it's the only time this happens), it will still round down to 17%
