Transfer failed = lost all mail attachements.

from today experience i lost alot valuable items sent by friend

1) he sent items

2) then when i tried to login to one of my characters i was kicked with this error

3) and after this i logged in and ALL mails i received was without attachements, items vanished...
can support help in this case to restore items?

TLDR
if you sent a mail after patch
to a person who didnt login yet after patch
mail will lost all attachements except gold

    Khajiit believes this happened to her but with just one attachment.

    This one had the same error the first time she attempted to log in.

    Later this one was able to return to Tamriel successfully.

    A friend sent something in the mail as a present, this one received the mail but nothing seemed to be attached.

    i just tested and its only happening if Recipient of the mail is offline=not in game when mail was sent

    This one has checked with the friend.

    Yes a sweetroll was sent but not received.

    The loading screen stole the sweetroll.

    This one would advise others to check their mail carefully for lost attachments.

    Especially if they got the failed transfer message at any time.

    The first log in this one got the error.

    After that she was able to log in normally the second time.

    This one has now submitted a support ticket as below:

    Dear nice people in Traveller Support

    When trying to enter Tamriel after the update yesterday this one was booted out on the load screen with an “error 319. failed transfer”.

    When this one tried again she was able to proceed normally.

    This one then went about her evening business of checking through the mail for crafting materials and complaints about the behaviour of her orc girl in Alinor.

    There was a mail from a friend Derlfak. He had attached a sweetroll for this one at the point of sending. No sweetroll was attached in the mail.

    Khajiit has verified with the friend that it was sent. She has questioned the orc girl who swears it was not eaten.

    Someone clever told this one that it may have fallen between your databases as a result of being sent while the information was being transferred yesterday.

    Others on the forum have reported the same issue yes. Though with items other than sweetrolls.

    Could you please look between your databases and see if you can find the sweetroll there anywhere on the floor? Khajiit does not mind if there is dust and other things stuck on it. When this one is hungry she is not so fussy no.

    Same thing happened to me on week 1 PTS, but with Rewards of the Worthy mail. The mails just didn't have the attachments, even without me running any addons.

    I reported the issue to ZOS during PTS, and it seemed to be fixed in week 2, so I thought the problem was solved. But maybe their fix wasn't transferred over to the new convert-on-login code that they switched to using for the live rollout.

    so far 4 accounts of me and my friends lost items due to this

    we submitted 4 tickets

    1) a guy told me how mail system works and how attachements can be lost after 30 days, i told him i know but items was lost and mail was new. He asking me a list of items, i answered. Then another person from CS replied how mail system works :|
    2) ticket closed as duplicate(even its only one ticket from that account) :/
    3) received a looong FAQ how to fix connections issues, not related to question at all :s
    4) a guy told me how to fix error, i told him i lost items, he told he will redirect my ticket to another team, considering i already submitted a ticket in right category - In-game issues - items - item lost

    1: Politely tell them you posted the list of items lot in the ticket already. (And repeat it for visibility)

    2: Re-open ticket and asure then, not a duplicate ticket, just a similar problem. And add a list of items lost.

    3: Check if your ticket is in the right category, if it is, update ticket with a polite message that the issue is not a connections issue but a lost items issue. And add the list of lost items.

    4: Patiently wait on another reply. then repeat that you lost items, with the list of lost items.

    Do remember, support people are underpaid and overworked. Mistakes are easy to make when you only get maybe a minute per ticket to respond. So be patient and persistent. eventually you'll get the right response.

    Can someone summarize what happened?

    Were the attachments lost because someone sent the mail before the patch and then their friend logged in after the patch and encountered an error? As a trading guild GM who has sellers in weekly auctions, who send their wares via mail and my organizational system is to leave them in my inbox until auction night to keep track, this news makes me VERY wary for when the patch hits us on console.

    Thinking it's safer to tell all sellers to hold their goods on patch week and not mail them to me until Wednesday after the patch hits Tuesday in two weeks?

    Did this also affect mail such as hirelings or receiving gold from items sold in guild trader?

    case closed for me

    1st ticekts - they returned to me some items, only one mail, it was more items and more mails but its sill better then nothing

    2nd ticket - they returned items that was lost

    3rd and 4th tickets - 150k gold compensations for each

    im satisfied
