Premades in soloqueue BGS is a bug report (see video)

Rizz_the_Filthy_Dino
Premades in general are really ruining battlegrounds and a lot of us wholeheartedly, as in YOUR community and subscribers, believe the queues should be split up between 100% solo-queue and 100% premade.

This is but one example of just how tilting it can be for 2~3 people in a group to face off against a straight up premade.
First off, the game will countdown in a queue for 12 people, right? More than half the time, we don't even start with our 4th member, so how did the countdown actually progress into the match???

Premades in Battlegrounds aren't a bug. Not having 4 people is, but the premades aren't.

Arguably, premades are a feature, given that Battlegrounds was pretty much created for the "I just want to small scale, no zergs" PVPers who couldn't find that in Cyrodiil. Its certainly intended to be able to play with friends - premade groups.

And as always, the real question that comes with splitting the queues is "How much longer are players willing to wait for a match?"

Players uninstalling ESO > Players waiting in a queue.

Solo players wouldn’t have an issue I don’t think. Premades would be waiting a long time. But look it’s been shown time and again that the whole mixed queue thing just plain sucks. Imo there should be a solo and duo queue and then premades and give premades the option of arranging matches for inter guild or guild v guild stuff. Once you get into higher MMR you get pitted against premades constantly and rarely have a fair match. And not just that but you’re likely, as a solo high MMR queue, to be missing a group member and to be placed with players with a low MMR who have no idea what’s going on and don’t have a chance in hell of standing up to a premade.

The worst thing is you get pitted against two premades that can’t kill each other cause they’re all a bunch of healbots and AOE tanks so they spend the match farming the solo group with 3 people. It’s time ZOS, just rip off the bandaid and do it.

Every BG I've been in, I've only had 2 other people in my group and almost as soon as the match starts, one person would leave. The other 2 teams on the other hand, have full groups. That is definitely not fair and balanced.

Battleground matches should not start until there are 4 people in each group.

Starting a match with only 2 or 3 people almost always results in a lose. I have managed to get into 2nd place with one other person but it was not easy and definitely not fun.

Honestly, I'm all for doing 3 queues, assuming that players are indeed willing to wait longer for matches.

    1. Solo-Only (i.e "I only want to queue with randoms)
    2. Pre-made Only (2 to 4 player pre-mades)
    3. Random ("I'm solo but I'll play with anyone)

The queue of Random Players who will play with anyone would move the quickest, thereby rewarding players who are willing to play with both random players and premades.

That way, both premades and the "I wanna play with randoms only" crowd have to wait longer than the players who queue up willing to play with anyone and everyone.

And if you want a faster queue, you can split your pre-made up or you can agree to play with anyone.

I don't PvP in ESO (yet) but in my humble experience from other games, there is no solution to premades. If elite groups decimate newbs and casuals, they just stop queueing. If queues are split by grouping or rank, que times get worse at least for some people. And if those happen to be most dedicated PvP players, they quit for greener pastures. In a game with no premade groups people still find ways to stack to same side.

And no matter if premade is just random friends or pvp elite., people not in it will get annoyed and complain.

Being in a premade with people one knows IS a big advantage, and having group voice chat on top of that is simply huge. It's a multiplayer game. I'd suggest if you feel annoyed being overpowered by premades, find a guild and friends, premake group yourself and have fun.

My question to Zenimax is, if there is a queue pop and ready check that only passes when all 12 have accepted it, where is the 4th member for a lot of us when the match finally starts?

I struggled with the same and have now 2 regular groups i group up with and it helps a lot. If they are not online or doing something else I solo que and I know what I get myself into. Now that I have the choice myself to group with mates and have horrible que times but win or fast que times with random people I feel a lot better about the system.

I think the problem for ZOS is I think, the reality is not that many people play BG's. We all play them but not all the time as there is so much to do in this game. Compared to dedicated shooters with so many players is becomes very easy to address these kind of issues.

I would please suggest a lobby. Exiting BG just when I found a nice team while being solo and need to que again feels really strange. Why not just have a lobby in which people enter, leave or stay and then a match can start minimum of 3 per team.

Me to as one thing not expressed enough because people ego's are properly to pleased with crushing a team. As a member of a pre-made I really hope this does a lot as crushing those pugs without healer is just boring. I don't understand my team members like it :|

I've uninstalled the game since making this thread; however, this is not a QQ post. Lurking now, are the changes made to the queues fixed anything? Are premades still ruining the pvp experience of solo queuers?
