Those are doable on cp160 tank who never read any guides and have random mix of gear/skills on them. Basically you just need enough HP and range taunt for that.

i know its doable, i did it many times
but its stressfull
its 1 reason for an AOE taunt even tho, ppl say "the game should not be too simple"
there are hardcore boss fights where the tank has to perma taunt several minions in order to complete the hardcore mode
and when the DPSs are too weak, those minions are getting more and more
and now you will have to use your single target taunt on 5-10 enemies in a row?
just give me an AOE taunt lol
I'm surprised people are too lazy to roll tanks.
I LOVE my tank. I love tanking dungeons. I'm lead player, I'm the one holding team together. I love tanking.
How it is not more popular is mind boggling to me.

Also, it's HELLA easier on my carpal tunnel than DPS or healing is! If my hands are acting up bad I can usually still manage to tank when DPSing would send me to have to soak my hands in icewater for the rest of the night.

I don't think I can add anything unique to this thread, but if someone is tallying answers here is why I avoid tanking:
- I am bad at navigation / maps / directions. Very very bad. This means I get nervous as a tank; people often seem to expect them to lead the way.

Thank you for pointing this out. Seriously I may start tanking more just because of this tip. I find healing to be better than DPS, but if the healing spot is filled I'll switch to DPS and regret it later if I'm already feeling it.

- The dual spec point is excellent. My tank is somewhere between entry level and midpoint. I tanked an nCR the other day no problem, but I would not feel confident doing vet trials or even some DLC dungeons. My tank needs more skill points, increased reputation in the skill lines, etc., but regular content IS NOT FUN on my tank. So I log on with her to tank, and then I log off. If I could easily and quickly switch to a build where I can participate in other content in a less painful way, I'd naturally just spend more time on her.
- I feel that tanks especially don't have as many tools in their arsenal to help "cover" for lackluster DPS, while DPS can often adjust to accommodate for tanks and healers that are sub par. That can be really frustrating as a tank when the group is struggling and there is nothing you can switch out to help.
As a couple of examples, DPS can put on a shield or a self heal. Healer can switch out buffs or heals for a few DPS abilities, and put on a DPS monster set, or even go full hybrid.
Tanking can be fun, and this is the first MMO in which I was brave enough to try it, but it can be daunting.
What makes tanks happy in their role? Why do they enjoy it?
1. Narrow the gap between top end and average dps.
2. AoE taunt. Make it easy to tank.
3. Existing tanks stop giving raid spec recommendations. A lot of tanks talk like you need to min max to do well which intimidates people.
All a new tank has to do is block and keep the boss taunted to do all dungeons, including vet. Focus on the mechanics of the fight and not some silly buff rotation that doesn’t matter in a dungeon.
As a healer I’m happy if I get a tank who blocks and uses sword and board. Seriously. Most don’t even need to be healed.
New tanks get intimidated by all the raid spec talk and focus on the wrong things. Usually I find new tanks focus on trivial things at the expense of situational awareness.
