Specialised destruction staves

Obviously all of us magic players would love spellcrafting to be implemented. But that's not looking very hopeful.

There definitely needs to be more though. With most of the game's magic locked away behind classes there's very little variety or options for magic players. Especially wardens who only have 4 class magic damage abilities. In the rest of the game there's 4 in destruction staff, 2 mage's guild, 1 psijic, and if you're that way inclined, another 1 or 2 in vamp depending on morph choice.

In the single player games, the main and in some titles only kind of magic damage is elemental and belongs to the destruction school. We already have destruction staves. But they could expand the selection of destruction staves.

Designate the current destruction staves as general / mixed. It has a bit of everything. Then create 3 or 4 more staves, 1 of which would have both magicka and stamina morphs.

1) Melee 1

Many players would love a melee staff. With both stamina and magicka morphs it could offer something to everyone. The stamina morphs would be purely physical attacks with the staff. The magicka ones would be very close range magic attacks.

2) Melee 2

This time a pure magic staff and again with a few close range magic attacks but also several dedicated tanking abilities which would make this weapon the magicka equivalent of 1 hand + shield. The perk option to turn the current ice staff into a tanking weapon could then be retired.

And 1 or 2 ranged magic damage staves. Maybe 1 pure magic damage abilities and the other mostly damage, but also a few defensive abilities.

    Rehash the current 3 destro staves for unique skills perhaps don't add anymore weapon lines unless its unarmed/casting otherwise its more grind and going to get messier.

    Fire/ Range
    1 Fire Ball (its needed)
    2 DoT like sorcs curse but fire
    3 Flame shield consta AoE+Damage on hit
    4 Wall is fine
    5 similar to ele drain + increases burn damage by 7%

    Lightening/ Melee/AoE
    1 Bolt short range bounces to two other targets
    2 Storm bringer Lightening follows you for 10 sec striking every 3 seconds concussing 1 target in your immediate area
    3 Lightening orb send a ball of lightening in the direction you are facing exploding on the first target dealing AoE and DoT
    4. Wall is fine
    5. Ele drain +10% shock damage

    Frost Tank/support
    1. Frost lance roots unit for .5 leaves a ground snare for 5 seconds
    2 Freeze much like petrify without the stun 15% maim after
    3. Frost fortress - major ward/resolve enemies hit on slow minor mending given to target cast on
    4. Wall is fine
    5. ele drain + 7% frost damage V chilled

    Literally the top of my head but I would like something like this =)

    For frost staff, I would like a taunt with major breach and costs about the same as pierce armor, but uses magicka. That way we have a viable option for dual ice staves, magicka tanks for pve. It takes too long to heavy attack for a taunt, plus you drop block, and pierce armor is too effective to not run sword and board on a tank.

    The other day, I had a glitch occur where I switched from my restoration staff to my 2 handed axe while in combat. The skill bar changed, as did my animations, but the weapon did not. This meant I was apparently using my STAFF as a melee weapon.
