If four of them weren't locked behind gates in Cyrodiil, I'd have them all. I don't know how to get those last four. *shrug*

I've got a very long way to go, but my plan is to eventually get them all on at least one character. If four of them weren't locked behind gates in Cyrodiil, I'd have them all. I don't know how to get those last four. *shrug*
It's easier than I expected. You need to wait until the gate is open and there's no enemy players near it, but that's all.
You can tell if it's open by looking at the symbol on the map - it will show an arch with a hole in the middle instead of an arch with a net pattern across. I think that happens if the two forts on either side of it are controlled by different alliances. The gate will still be in the enemies colour, and will still be guarded, but it will be open.
Then you just...ride through. It sounds wrong but don't gallop - if you're galloping you run down your stamina and then it's easier for them to knock you off. Because the guards are NPCs they don't exactly attack quickly and they'll only follow you a short way from the gate so even without upgrading your mount you can make it through. (I did it easily on one with about +5 speed and +7 stamina - but when I galloped I was knocked off).
Enemy players are the complication of course, because they'll actually chase you and are far more likely to use effective attacks. You can reduce the risk of running into anyone by waiting until all the activity is over the other side, so the majority of people are using the other gate, but it may just come down to trying again.

Not if you raise crafting skills....
