Why is vWS1 HM harder than vCoA2 HM solo?

Seriously? Why can I solo HM on CoA2 with relative ease, but when it comes to the basic wayrest sewers I feel like I need a tank and a healer? So far I've only been able to 2 DPS it...I know its a dumb thing to complain about because once you have a tank it's relatively easy but uhg.. venting

The last boss just hits so hard and so randomly....so many heavy attacks, so much bleed damage...it's ridiculous

Cause dungeon need reason to have a tank :D for wayrest 1 it's probably only reason to have tank other then buffs/debuffs/cc services

If your talking about Normal Wayrest Sewers, I just soloed it today and I've never set foot in there in 5 years.

I wished I would have tried these things Solo a long time ago. I always thought they would be Harder than vMA but I was way wrong.

Edit: I even took the side paths and looked in all of the corners to kill everything while I was there. Also did Blessed Crucible but I did die once on the final boss because I got stuck between a pillar and the lava pools trying to kill an atronoch.

They say WS1 HM so I would assume they mean veteran

Yes WW1 is pretty hard without tank

I tried to solo coa2, but the 2nd boss is too hard, his clone regen make the fight feel never end... Any tips?

“Basic” as in “simple” or “plain” probably. I think he’s saying HM to mean vet and he says he’s trying both on ‘HM’. Plus WS1 final boss doesn’t have any one shots on normal.

For OP, the final boss still doesnt technically have an unavoidable one shot. Her teleport attack is essentially Lotus Strike, and the AoE that hits after the initial from-teleport hit is the one that can kill if you aren’t blocking. So just be ready to block, or save a potion with health restore for after the damage hits.

I think they should have more bosses in HM hitting as hard as in Wayrest 1. For a true tank it is very satisfying to do bosses where you know you are actually needed. Any fellow tank out there agrees?

You're not supposed to be soloing them. If you can do it, more power to you, but please, please, for the love of Akatosh, don't add to the whining.

The attack that the op is talking about is a random attack. Tank can't really do anything about it. It is up to the healer to get you back up after the first hit, before the second, as it is a 2 hit deal.

I know that. But the boss also hits around 5k damage with the standard attack on a full resistance tank.

Also, after the random attack she does a steel tornado that you can dodge roll. It's the steel tornado that kills the most people.

I am also aware of what you say there. What I don't understand is what makes you think that makes tanks valuable.

I am a simple man. I like to believe there is a world for tanks outside of the running buff-o-matic ;-)

Not really whining, just pointing out something inconsistent. Every other base game dungeon I can solo on veteran HM except for this one. It's just very odd to me.

No problems, it wasn't the title that tripped me up it was the text. I didn't even notice the title that much, I just saw WS1 and Solo and started reading because I just did the normal one for the first time yesterday and solo to boot.

CoA2 is an old vet dungeon from before One tamriel, meanwhile ws1 is a 'newer' vet dungeon and therefore better made.

how do you not get 1 shot by the Colossus in vCoA II? Or do you just die and go past them?
I find it hard to believe that you have enough resistances to take a hit and keep going where the last boss in vWS I has a similar mechanic and u complain about it. Funny how WS I is not even a 1 shot to DPS if your blocking it.

Vet ws1 isn't better made. It's the same as ws1 normal, with more hp, resistances and damage for the enemies. I for one much preferred it when there were entirely different stories and enemies between the normal and vet version of a dungeon. That only changed since Imperial City, and now we'll never see whatever was in store for vet Selene's Web, Tempest Island, Vaults of Madness, etc. It's also when hard modes became about "reading a book" instead of requiring a specific strategy, which IMHO made things much more interesting.

Salene's Web, Tempest Island etc were always Vet only till One Tamrial.
There was no non-vet of these dungeons prior.

This is simply not true. They were normal dungeons and (precisely the opposite of what you say) never had vet versions until one tamriel. Back then a vet version of a dungeon was not only harder than the normal one, it had a different storyline that built on the story of the normal version, and different encounters/bosses. In many cases additional areas were added to the veteran version that didn't exist/weren't accessible in normal.
