Roll Dodge Broken with Gamepad

Currently on the PTS, a Roll Dodge can only be initiated by first Blocking and then tapping Button 1 (A/X), this kills a lot of the freedom of movement present on the Live Server, where a Roll Dodge can be initiated by holding Button 1 before tapping LT/L2 which avoids the slow-down from drawing your weapon and blocking. This is extremely limiting to character mobility with a Gamepad.

✭✭I was confused by this, since I currently roll dodge with a gamepad by blocking and tapping the A button (or X if I could use my dualshock, which I totally should be able to do, but Microsoft has their panties in a wad over it). This is in Live. But then I remember, I'm using the gamepad control set 'B.' Check in the control settings for the gamepad and see if you got swapped to an alternate control scheme. I prefer the mechanic you describe, but I understand it's a matter of preference.Taking stealth away from the Bosmer is like taking magic away from the Altmer, making Nords allergic to mead, or making Orcs pretty.1 -

I use a ps4 remote. You can purchase a $15.00 CAD bluetooth usb off of amazon and download "DS4Windows" which converts the ps4 buttons to xbox. I personally hate xbox controllers. This is a must have. Don't bother with a usb cable, instead use bluetooth, if the cable detaches mid-game, you need to reboot eso after rebooting the DS4Windows program.

DerethDawnblade✭✭✭I think the point here was somewhat missed. Allow me to clarify:
Currently on the Live Server, a Roll Dodge can be performed by either holding LT then pressing A or by holding A and pressing LT. Holding A and pressing LT allows you to avoid blocking or even drawing your weapon if you're out of combat and just want to roll around, as you immediately go into the roll rather than blocking first.
On the PTS, the latter no longer works, as holding A and then pressing LT only blocks, rather than performing a Roll Dodge.Edited by DerethDawnblade on February 4, 2019 10:10PM0 -

So to clarify Holding X(wait till finishing jumping to activate L2 for no blocking dodge roll) was removed on PTS.1 -

What's great about using a gamepad on PC is the buttons can be changed in Key Bindings just like keyboard keys. So I have Y as Jump, and A solely as interact and then Roll Dodge when used with LT. This PTS change really screws up my movement because of that though.0 -
