Race change tokens - should we spend them immediately?

I mean, how can we be sure that no further changes will be made to racial passives after the Wrathstone DLC goes live? How long should we wait before spending our race change tokens?

I want to know your opinions. Will you wait a bit or spend your race change tokens immediately?

lmao. It's very reasonable. It's their game they can do what they want. Three race change tokens and three name change tokens is equal to 10,500 crowns or about $80.

For anyone who missed it.

They are being extremely reasonable, while I would of liked a complete reset of races, allowing you to choose upon login.. 3 tokens for name/race is a fine balance and I'll take it.

I question someone looking to race change more than 3 characters because the racial balance is really good across the board with races being better than they were on live.

Someone with like 8+ of one race, at that point you need to ask, did you really think your passives would stay the same forever in an mmo environment?

Yea because giving tokens for each character whom have 50lvl is something heroic. After when they just makes some race worse compare to live. Also for someone who have e.g. 15 characters, 3 tokens is just a joke. But nowadays if u paying and u have pretensions about something u are immediately treat as hater.

No matter how many free tokens they give if we spend them immediately and ZoS makes some post release racial changes.

Sounds like a personal problem, It's not ZOS fault you chose races due to BiS rather than what pleases you.

I will wait until the very last hotfix of the Wrathstone dlc ~ appx. 2 weeks after the update... BUT, it all depends on tomorrows new upcoming changes. I may not use them at all. happy me.

If you're Altmer? Yes. ZOS plans to completely gut them next PTS cycle, and they're not even the best magicka DPS race right now (Breton and Khajiit are better).

We don't know relevant races look idiotic balanced on PTS as in >1K on an 60K raid parse.

Note that sustain is better in PvP and dungeons.
Removing sustain from Altmer make them more like Dunmer and less like Breton.

Wait. Because conventional forum/streamer/zone chat wisdom about what is good/bad is usually wrong. You need to decide what is right for you after trying out your own characters on their existing races.

5 years into the game ZOS change racial passives significantly (we can argue if you really want to, but Argonian got all nerfs, Imperial is simply worse, Dunmer is quite different, Khajiit is very different, Bosmer has different PvP benefits now - I'd argue that is significant for a lot of people), and offer a single race change token.

Community rages so they offer three tokens. Marketing 101, lower expectations and any compromise looks good.

They could've just offered one for every toon but with limited time frame and it costs them nothing. What opportunity loss is there when the goodwill engendered promotes further expenditure down the road.

Furthermore, now that racial passives are changing people are concerned that further changes may occur in the near future. Proper balance takes more than 4 weeks of PTS. Lack of stability and confidence in community expectations is not good.

I know nothing is yet carved in stone, we'll see what goes live, but this could have and should have been handled better by ZOS.

Whether one or three is unreasonable or not will be determined once the patch goes live. They have some more changes in store. This is basically what Gina said today about the class rep meeting and ZOS' goals for PTS.

Argonians get more healing and resources when using potions
Bosmer will get a damage buff of some sort and become stealthy again as well as some more stuff, which I found really cryptic...
Dunmer will lose the health and gain more stamina and magicka. They are probably going to do something about the fire damage.
Altmer will get Spellrecharge changed
Imperial will get more on the Red Diamond passive than just health on % to reflect the diverse nature of the race.

And the rest is now in a better or the same state as before, with Orc being the only one that got changed in theme enough to justify the use of a race change token (if I only picked Orcs for tanking and don't appreciate the stamina)

I would not reccomend to spend them instantly, rather wait till all the Aftere PAtch changes are out, and we return to weekly maintenance instead of patches -.> reducing the chance to get nerfed again

Yes spend them immediately just like people rush out and buy what they think will be the next best set and gold it out before all the dust settles and we get a hand on how all the changes are going to work out in practice.

Oh and then don’t forget to come and make an angry post about how ZOS unfairly changed something.

Buying sets based on PTS might be smart, you can get them cheap or sell for profit.
Yes its an risk and you might loose gold.
There is no benefit spending an race change token early. You race and the other still work the same way util patch is life.

They are looking at doing a major class balance the patch after this one. I suspect there will be a bunch of backdoor racial nerfs/buffs for specific classes. So, I'm holding at least 2 of the 3 until then. There will be some major qq by people that spend all their tokens and get one of those nerfs. For that, I'm gonna buy popcorn.

I'm trusting that once they make the change and it goes live that we wont have anything to worry about.

It is nice to get 3 change tokens. But I will need more. I did choose my characters according to BIS because that it was pleases me. Now the ones I have chosen are no longer bis.

That's why you shouldn't even consider a race change.

1. No race changes so much that it is useless or bad now in its former role

2. ZOS can apply changes, buffs and nerfs at any time after the upcoming update is live

Do not race change because you want that 1% more of whatever.

I would love to see the population % stats before and after this patch goes live.

It would be really interesting to know how many players actually change vs how many that change who are high ranking PvP or leader board PvE. If only I could access the game database and write a few queries...

I'm keeping my current race and I don't really have time for alts. So I may never use mine.

Unless they introduce a new race that's cooler than dunmer. (imo)

Probably changes to classes, also CP down the line.
Should not affect races so much, that is outside Khajiit templar, race changing an magplar to Khajiit for the +crit damage passive is risky.

And to really troll us another Khajiit type with Elsweyr. Its feature poor for an chapter after all

Lots probably change because its free, others simply to change to favorite race now that it works better.
Probably get loads of Dunmer, more Khajiit, Nord and Orcs to.
If they use it to improve dps they will be be disappointed
