For some reason the trailer brought flash backs of the film "gladiator" a captured man in a carriage being carted off to a big city to fight for his life. Strange I know but it's 5am here and I can't sleep. I got to thinking maybe this could work??
A 1v1 colliseum arena set in the heart of elleswyr, you queue up for it and fight till the death. best of 3 rounds, a time limit of 3 minutes per round before a big ass Dragon swoops down and kills everyone. Unincentivises troll healing builds/ tank builds (No kills no token) hosted by the elleswyrians. Lore friendly aswell.
Colliseum tokens given out for a win and every time you hit 5-10-15 etc win streak you get a multiplier on tokens rewarded.
A special vendor similar to BGs and the golden. Rewards are simple. ALL gold stuff temps/rosin/kuta/chromium grains, dreugh wax/perfect roe etc(10 tokens each) maybe sling in an exclusive gladiator motif??( rewards of gold seem fitting for a victorious warrior)
A leader board system put in place for the most wins weekly and colliseum satchels given to the top 20?containing maybe 3 of each gold mat?
Gives pvp players a chance to farm mats in a more appealing way then grinding nodes and adds an entire new level and creates an entire game mode for dueling builds. The system can't be abused as you queue and face a random opponent so can't "farm a friend"
Even gives a nice way to test newly created builds on toons rather then trudging through cyrodil trying to avoid the 30 man zerg for a few nice 1v1/ 1v 3s without having to wail on friends you already know there burst combos/sets
