All Encompassing Nord Thread

I honestly think Nords are looking pretty good, the ultimate generation is unique and gives the class flavor. What is really impressive and I think very under appreciated is the near 4k in resists we get. You could essentially wear light or medium armor and still be tanky with resists in non CP, with CP it doesn't look all that spectacular but remember CP changes look to be coming and I don't think they made these racial passives without taking into consideration the CP changes.

Yes I know the loss in mitigation effects Nords taking bleed damage now but ZoS is aware that bleed builds are over performing and my gut feeling is that they may get nerfed as soon as next week when patch notes go live and the PTS drops.

As a Warden main, Nord is looking like the goto race for tanking and even DPS, yes they don't get weapon or spell damage like other classes get but you can build for that while having great passives on your class already. I am thinking of running a Medium twice-born-star set and running the shadow and the warrior which will give me almost identical stats as DPS races while having more raw stamina stats.

We honestly won't know until the PTS drops on how classes play but as a Warden and mostly a tank, a Nord makes more sense than Imperial or Aegonian now.


Anyways, what are your thoughts? I know there is doom and gloom out there and figured we could keep all Nord talk here.

I'm deleting my Argonian stamDK and making a Nord one. The new passives look too good to pass up.

Most of my Nords are already at the resistance cap. More resist won't help for PVP as much as the 6% mitigation.

I will have to respec most of my Nords to take advantage of the changes.

I was really hoping for ice damage. I really want a Nord Warden Cryomancer.

Or you could use the Race Change token you'll be getting.

Thats the thing, with the resist passive we can build more into damage, we can literally be tanks with good damage. We will just have to respec. Imagine being as tanky as a 1H and Sheild but be able to DW or 2H.

You’re almost never actually at the resistance cap in pvp, especially in a CP campaign. Everyone attacking you has almost assuredly invested in armor/spell penetration

Not really sure why they took a massive *** on so many other races and buffed the hell out of nord. Ya it looks absolutely insane but wtf?
