Upgrades for Sorcerer's Pets (Cosmetic)

How about some cosmetic updates or options for Sorcerer pets (and Warden too while you're at it). This game is years old and the same old, ugly sorc pets are still around - and EVERYONE has them. How about a change. Some sort of skin system for pets - like you did with the pre-order of Morrowind and the bear skin.

1) Better skins - the sorc pets are one of the lamest looking things in the game. Give me a pet with the new dead-water scale or bright-throat type skin
2) DIFFERENT skins - let the flying pet be a harpy or some other flying thing, and different options for the land pet as well - why not a daedric panther or other creature?
3) Same for Warden - must EVERY warden have a bear? What about a lion? A panther? A badger? Never mind, we don't need to stinking badgers!

Make it a quest or some other sort of quest or accomplishment based item. Last resort, offer them in the Crown store. There are like 234873498273904872389047 different non-combat pets, how about a LITTLE love for the COMBAT pets. For that matter, how about let us "polymorph" the combat pets using non-combat pet skins?

SORC PETS NEED LOVE TOO!

    Agree 100%.

As for the Warden... I hate bears even irl. It would be so much better to have a spriggan instead.

I don't hate bears, but I would really like an option of something else; like senches (of various types).

If I played a Sorc, I would also like more pet choices.

I gave you an agree, even though you criticised badgers...

Yeah, some more variety and nicer looking pets would be good.

Also ZOS if you're at pets, make them not blocking the characters from interacting with environments, like crafting stations, doors, wayshrines, etc...

We've already had a HUGGEEE discussion on this topic idk where its gone though, a ZOS person did respond saying if they are going to implent it they'll have to do it for Every class, like DragonKnights had Blue fire like Coldhabour fire. But yes it would be amazing for Warden skins especially since they have so many animals as companions.

While they’re at it, they could do what should have been done 5 years ago- make it so pets don’t block UI functions. I can’t tell you how many times I go to a wayshrine or NPC and I have to dance around them to access it because someone AFKed there and the stupid pet is flapping its wings in my face blocking the way.

Well they did introduce the "Specials" tab for the warden grey Bear to sit in so that was kind of the start of implementing things like this... idk what happened to that idea but i know once i saw that Special tab when i made my warden i immediately thought oh cool there will be pet skins.... but for over a year its just been a redundant tab.
i would LOVE pet skins and stuff...
I hope we get some of this kind of stuff in 2019, man im gona be so upset if we just get tacked on dlcs and boring story content again.. give the base game some love please!!!

No badgers were harmed in my criticism of badgers and honestly, I'll take a daedric badger as an option if that's all they give me. SOMETHING else is better than NOTHING else.

    That is ridiculous.

They may call these pets "summons" and therefore, imagine they're the same as other spells.

However, the vast majority of people who use them think of them as pets and would not expect other spells to be cosmetically altered, just because pets were.

My patience is wearing, increasingly, thin with this game.

It's all just Crown Store mounts, non-combat pets, houses and furnishings - very little is being added to the core of the game.

    Even cosmetically.

Both of the other (non-space based) MMOs I have played have had Hunters/Rangers, who could go out and tame virtually any type of animal, out in the wild.

This game apparently can't even manage one alternate animal skin, without stressing that they might have to add some blue fire, at exactly the same time, for some unknown reason.

They need to get a grip.

Skin options for both pet classes would be awesome. (It isn't like ESO doesn't know how to just reskin old models, when it comes to mounts, or pets, as it is right?)

Even better would be some species options for warden maybe? Not sure if they are completely lore baked into always having the bear or not? Be nice to have something not so derpy large, like maybe a guar, wolf or tiger? I dunno. Seeing the same 1 animal option is kinda meh, I mean at least a difference (optional) between each races animal, dependent on their home region or something? Even if its just a regional different for the bear, I mean you'd think a nord have a polar bear, where I dunno, a dark elf would have a black bear or something. It is a fantasy game, someone be creative damnit :#

I would pay so much money for this. I'm all about the esthetics in this game and the purple pets just don't match my sorcerer's outfit.

I might even play my sorceress again if we can opt in to smaller, less hideous pet skins.

Remember when the Gray Bear was added? It was categorized as, "ability reskin," instead of "special." Kinda wish that had continued.

I'm not a Sorc but damn I hate it when I see a petsorc running around. The pets look so outdated and ugly...

They should at least upgrade them. A proper Scamp skin already exists, and at least tweaking the colours of the Clannfear and Matriarch to look better shouldn't be difficult.

To be honest, they always did.

I played a sorc for 3months at launch (because Warden didn't exist) and was highly disappointed with the look of them, even then.

I don't know why they made them that colour, for a start?

How many people even like white, with a hint of insipid purple?

This one has been a sorcerer for a very long time now.
The summons look the way they do, because they are Daedra, not fancy pets. They are also amazingly complex and functional forms when you truly study them in different lights.

That being said, this one would certainly consider the purchase of psijic style tattoos or a stylish witch's hat for twilight, were they available.

...all our active abilities while we're at it?
    As I said elsewhere:
...and the other thing I would love to see... is an option to modify existing class abilities in visual effects and maaaayybe with some small alterations, like damage type shifts...
There could be "aspects" that can be collected in various ways (Achievement rewards? Aspect stone bossfight drops? Crown store?) and fitted to each ability... like for example...
...keep the effect for your wardens "Dive", but change the summoned animal to "dive" from a cliff racer to, say, a hawk with the "nature" aspect! Or a wasp with the "poison" aspect! Or a vampire bat with the "blood" aspect! Or a ice wraith with the "frost" aspect. Or a fire imp with the "flame" aspect. Or whatever!
...keep the general effect of your sorcerors "Mages Fury" but change the visuals from a normal white-blue lighting bolt to a purple-black daedric-cursed-looking lightning strike with the "daedric" aspect. Or a golden "zeus" looking lightning bolt with the "aedric" aspect. Or a "green electricity" lightning as the elf hero uses in the trailer movies with the "nature" aspect. Or a ruby lighting with the "blood" aspect.
...keep the general effect of your dragonknights "Dark Talons", but change the visual effects from the claws to a fist made of mud grabbing the target with the "earth" aspect. Or vine tentacles wrapping around them with the "nature" aspect. Or spectral minions grabbing on with the "spirit" aspect. Or whatever.

It would be... like an outfit system for our abilities! ;)

Agree 100%. So tired of going to town and seeing flappers EVERYWHERE and blocking crafting stations and writ turn-ins and generally just being a nuisance. How about you give the twilight a resting stance, sitting kind of like harpies do. Sorcs are pretty cruel to keep their twilights out 24/7 and make them continually flap their wings. Of course, that's ZOS' fault when they made it tiresome to have to go into your character menu to unsummon them, so everyone just leaves them out now. Had to wait for sorcs to finish the Rawlkha NL quest so I could ensure that no pets were around to interfere with the chests. Seriously, sorcs dragging their pets around on non-combat quests or just doing writs in town.

OK...sorry for the rant, but I'd love to see a resting animation added for twilights so that they are less distracting/in the way. Better yet, make pets easier for sorcs/wardens to unsummon or have them not block interactable objects. It's better than when the game launched and they had collision. I remember getting trapped in the bank in Riften because there were a half-dozen clannfears blocking the door.

Or, give me an option to hide the pets so I don't have to see them in towns. Or, have them automatically desummon in towns. Is it really that hard to resummon your pets before you start a quest/dungeon?

Actually with some reflection, it occurs to this one, that they could give us access to the dye channels in a similar manner as our armor. It would take some committed work on the devs part though.

The resulting expressions of projected individuality, would certainly be interesting to see.

A thousand times yes. I really don't understand why they didn't continue this, we already have Scamp skins for example, it would be trivial to sell them for sorc pets.

I've previously said an Imp would be lore-friendly combat pet for the Sorcerer since there's an Altmer sorcerer who has one, but since ZoS ignore everything I say I don't get my hopes up about these things. BUT IF in the slight chance they do actually pay attention for once then it'd be great if they do actually give us some different skins.

Totally agree. It doesn't have to be anything flashy at all, I'd already be a slight bit happier with different colour variations of the pets we have now, at least for the Sorcs. And while I've never played as a Warden, I understand it'd be nice to have different animals as companions. But I fear that if we ever get that, it'd be a Crown Store only thing :(

But I do wish it was a thing. I just feel weird running around as an Altmer sorcerer in fancy white and golden robes, but with this weirdly purple Twilight Matriarch (whose designs I don't really like in general) fluttering around beside me all the time. Sure, it's one of those things that ultimately don't matter during gameplay, but I would truly be happier with different colour options :) (say, for instance, one colour scheme inspired by the Aurorans or the Golden Saints to represent some of the different Daedra?)
