Should ZoS rework the CP system? Explain.

I was thinking we could instead get a "mastery" system similar to League of Legends or Borderlands where you gain extra buffs based on the way you play.

Examples:
If you stun an enemy, you gain resistances for a short period of time
If you gain a shield, your next attack deals more damage

The system is basically fine. It just needs a few tweaks like a permanent level cap and some kind of combat effects toggle off so that players who don't want the boosts overland can turn off the buffs but keep the QOL passives on.

I've never considered it much of a problem.

The only argument I ever hear against CP, is that classes suffer from it and that classes can finally be balanced properly with the CP system gone..... Keep telling yourself that lie ^^ This is never going to happen, even when the CP system is gone.

CPs should open build diversity and allow players to develop their playstyle. Instead, it harms diversity by removing a lot of choices. You can afford to go full offensive and still survive in dungeons because you get a lot of survivability and sustain from the CPs. When you've been high CP for long, you forget how it was hard without it. Some boss attacks don't kill anymore because you have like a 40% damage reduction from CP.

My point is. CPs should reward players for their time invested, and give them ways to make use of their skill, after months/years of practice, not make the game flat out easier. At least, I feel like whe shouldn't get damage AND sustain AND survivability. I didn't have a problem with CP until I tried playing on a low CP account, and found myself struggling, even with great gear, on things I could do eyes closed on my character.

More changes means more things breaking in the game. Fix the game before reworking stuff that doesn’t even need to be touched.

A guy just recently saturated the forum with 4 year old posts, and ironically, they tend to be in much the same vein as current posts....

The thing is, are you sure it doesn't need to be touched? A lot of nerf to classes come from an unbalance from CP. A lot of "broken things", like the morrowind sustain nerf, were caused by CP...

No, the system is fine as it is but doubtless the odd tweak here or there would do no harm - whilst resulting nonetheless in QQ posts as with any change to the game. You can never keep everyone happy all the time.

If they keep adding CP and run out of champion skills to put said points in I am guessing they'll have to rework it.
