I havn't been able to outwait maintenance for a while now due to having a life, but till how late does it usually take before servers are back online, and is there a faster way to check the status than just trying to launch the game? Thanks!

up by 9:00 a.m. Eastern. Maintenance is between 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern.

I haven't seen an end time to maintenance listed I think ever here. I'm sure they've done it before, but it's usually only a start time.

I'm waiting with anticipation not because I can't wait to actually play, I just want to see how close to 9 they actually get the game back on lol.

Well, I do want to play, but I also have a life to attend to. Usually I try to get my weeks worth of life done during weekly(ish) game maintenance.

I truly have never understood this part of the this MMO gaming experience. The creator of this game uses the term “server” or “mega – server” which in reality is a bunch of smaller things working in concert. Like some form of global traffic deterministic DNS that sends you to the closest datacenter based off geo SWIP information which presents to a colo data center that has some form of local load balancer and one can only imagine many front-end servers doing various tasks that point to back-end databases. This is not just one server or four servers for that matter US, EU, PS, and Ebox. This is not the 1990’s there should not be a normal reason for shutting down everything so often. Modern companies now days keep running smoothly while switch traffic to an alternate environment or different datacenter to perform maintenance then switch traffic back over.
