Bug with the Breda XP.

Long story short me and a buddy are grinding in skyreach. Identical gear, both using 150% XP scrolls, the works. All of a sudden he starts to outlevel me. I check my character buffs after over an hour of this grinding sesh and my Breda Buff is up, but where it usually says "100% XP increase" it literally says nothing. Blank. I spent almost 4 whole 150% XP potions getting during that span of leveling, should Zenimax refund them? Its now going to take me even more potions to level to max. I saved this all, as well.

If you spent 4 whole potions you are looking at over 2 hours of leveling (assuming you have the drink buffs to make each xp pot last as long as possible), in which case your breda buff may have run out be because it only lasts for 2 hours and needs to be refreshed.

Also it is possible that your friend had enlightenment during that time and you didn't, it isn't on the same timer for everyone. One of my accounts has their enlightenment refresh in the evening, and the other in the morning.

Is there by any chance he is getting more hits or kills than you? I don't know how it works when you are in combat and how XP is distributed. So maybe he had more combat than your or did something quest related? Just guessing.

One more thing is maybe you have visited the area before and already got your XP from it, but he didn't so he is getting XP while you are not because you got it from before? Again, just guessing.

No....you guys mustn't have read...the breda buff was on my character, but didn't say anything about 100% increased XP. It still had 15 minutes left. I had to reuse it and the 100% XP writing then showed up. I can upload a pic.

You wont get a refund, it's not how it works. I've had no problems with it. Could be your friend is using upgraded gear or eso+ or something else.
If you're using an addon it could be bugged. Many factors play in this.

There’s no “not paying attention” to my buffs whatsoever here, if you cared to read. For whatever reason people on these forums don’t. Next time you try and white knight read the actual post first before you make yourself look like an idiot. The Buff Was Literally Bugged.

Also, for anyone who cares, ZOS refunded my potions.

Glad to hear that ZoS did that for you. Honestly, you kinda lost me at " I was grinding Skyreach" because I despise grinding as a way of leveling, but I'm glad that they helped you out.

I've seen this before. I want to say it's possible to animation cancel out of the buff as you're getting it, so the buff visually applies, but the XP buff doesn't. Also happens with the Witches' Cauldron, and maybe with the Midyear Mayhem scroll.

So... just take a second, savor the fermented honey, and THEN go kill things, instead of chugging it and the dodge rolling out of the animation to save half a second.

I know exactly what happened. I've seen this before. It's a user error when you're applying the buff to yourself.

If you didn't stop immediately at the * - which is only possible if you were keeping a constant watch on your buffs and XP gains compared to your buddy - then it's literally a case of you not watching your own buffs. A bugged feature doesn't excuse this. Don't get snippy. Glad to hear they refunded you.

Lol. Ill go ahead and post the screenshot so another person makes themselves look like a fool. My Breda Buff was up the whole time, as noted by my character sheet, and my Buff Tracker, however the buff itself was bugged. B U G G E D. I will spell it out for you.

This was what was happening every time I reapplied it:

This was what happened after I relogged:

As you can see, clearly bugged.

Yes relogging was the only thing that solved it.

Yeah can happen with all the event buffs that I've seen.

Best to make sure you double check and read your buffs if it's that important to you

There's a few odd things lately. One of my characters keeps losing her Mundus...Until I rezone or relog. Then it comes back, sometimes :/
