Are Crown sales a thing?

I've heard people talk about this, but I have never seen any kind of crown sales on Steam or in any other MMO that I've been playing for all these years (as far as I can remember anyway). Could someone be kind enough to clear this up for me? And if it's indeed a thing when does it usually occur?
P.S: I'm talking about the premium currency, not the items on the Crown Store.

✭✭✭✭✭Yes, Crown sales do happen, but its typically whenever ZOS wants it to, so we can't exactly predict it for you. Most of the time its 40-20% off, and the actual sale depends on which bundle you buy. The time the last couple have been closer to 20%, but I can't be certain (since I stocked up on crowns over a year ago during a 50% sale and have been slowly spending them). -
