I cant extract these ugly dyes for crown gems?

There is alot of things you get from crown crates that I wish I could extract. Outfits, tattoos, legendary mounts. My collections is full of stuff I will never ever use.

I created a post about this on the crowns forum.

Not only is the RNG being kinda sucky this time (at least for me), the dyes cannot be gemmed so I am stuck with them. I have no use for dye stamps!

Wow... I am definitely not buying them now. At least the things you couldn't exchange for gems didn't go to your inventory, but if they are giving dye stamps that I have to pay to destroy then forget it. I'll wait for the next season or this to get changed.

Didn't really need a lizard-camel anyway.

I noticed that this morning too, that I had dye stamps I couldn't trade in for gems. And yeah, RNG was mostly crap this time. Like, more resembling the twitch crates than crown crates - hardly anything "special" - out of the 30 crates I opened, I did get the regular lizard senche mount. But generally speaking, 30 crates has always got me everything I wanted in the past. This time, not even close.

Maybe they've tweaked these things to go alongside their seemingly stopping the free crates and killing the twitch drop rate. Gotta keep buying to get gems or the things you want.

I opened 62 crates, got 2 legendary reward mounts of the same type. Everything else was junk and duplicate that I ended up with 806 crown gems.

This made me quite upset yesterday. I do like to support the game, and I typically get a 15x pack of crates every season (unless I think it's garbage like the last one with all the bloody Halloween stuff in it), but being unable to get rid of those dyes for gems? Seriously? It wouldn't be so bad if they were crown exclusive dyes. But they aren't. They're generic dyes that I have unlocked, and as an ESO+ subscriber, this means they are entirely worthless to me.

I think the worst part was having to type out “DESTROY” when getting rid of the excessive unwanted dye drops.

or you could have waited for official confirmation that they ARE indeed bugged and will be gemmable in a future, but.. ah well

that said, for the future destruction - add anything you want destroyed to junk tab. and then hit destroy all junk button. no need to type long confirmation for individual items that way.

Ah, RIP my gems then. No regrets though, clogging up my inventory with useless junk, and the expectation of good communication and quick bug fixes usually ends with disappointment.

Aside from that nifty Dead-water skin there is nothing I want from this seasons crates. Literally only bought some so I could get gems for that gem exclusive ice senche coming next week. Seemed to get nothing but junk this time. Did get the nix ox fabricant mount but I would convert that to gems if I could.

At least all of that stuff is permanent and could be used unlimited times, no matter if the person getting them likes them or not.

Crown Store Dyes are 1-time-use, like potions. Anything in the crates which are 1-time-use really should be able to be converted to gems.

Counterpoint argument: Dye Stamps should be permanent, collectible unlocks. Or at the very least, should unlock the crown exclusive dyes they contain (such as Patriot's Blood Red and Thousand Pumpkins.)

I still dont get why dye is consumable only for costumes instead of unlocking the color in outfit station for everything. It would drastically increase its worth.

If it's a bug, it was happening in the previous season, as well.
There's nothing in these Murkmire crates that would entice me enough to overcome my reluctance to spend money on crates, but the Hollowjack crates sucked me in, and I now have a few dyes that I will never use and can't be gemmed.

Edit: come to think of it, I don't think the dyes in question came from the Hollowjack crates, because I bought a handful of those black and orange dyes with gems, on purpose.
These other UG-LEE dyes came from a couple of other crates that I think pre-dated Hollowjack; most likely a variety of the former free crates.

According to bug support forum, the issue with the dyes is unintended, and they *ARE* working on a fix, but don't have it out yet. Just as headsup, they said to keep hold of our dye packs, because we should be able to turn them in for gems when they have the issue fixed.
